Bonanzle Rolls Out End-of-Year Improvements
By Ina Steiner
Bonanzle has redesigned its seller store page, called booths, in order to emphasize sellers. The new booth page displays the seller photo in 175x175 pixels, because, according to Wednesday's announcement, "Bonanzle has earned its reputation, from day one, as a marketplace of unique people."
The online marketplace, launched in June 2008 with the tagline "Your destination for everything but the ordinary," has also improved the chat feature found in all booths that allow buyers and sellers to communicate with each other. Among the improvements to chat are the following:
- the ability to call a seller into chat;
- the ability to paste an item into chat (from the current booth only);
- more emoticons;
- larger font size;
- the ability to private message users without clicking;
- and, "a couple other goodies you'll have to try to find out."
Bonanzle is planning additional improvements to chat, including allowing users to hear a sound when new messages are sent (with easy disabling mechanism).
The company said its general goals were to make the page feel cleaner (more space to breathe, less brown) and more intuitive (don't have to scroll through categories, don't have to click a link to search the booth, etc).
