eBay Delays Retirement of Old Search Technology Until June
By Ina Steiner
eBay had planned to retire its old search technology in April, but has extended the deadline to early June. The company said almost all eBay buyers and sellers are now using the new search technology. Since it was first introduced, eBay has made some changes to the new search that it says includes faster search results, the ability to customize preferences, and the return of "Related searches" and "exclude in category" features. Meanwhile, users of eBay Motors are complaining on this 46-page thread that the new search on the Motors site is slow and more difficult to navigate than the old search. One seller offered to pay the expenses of an eBay moderator to travel to Oregon to watch him search the site and list an item to see how slow the site has become, "so maybe you can get a feeling of the pain we are going through."
