eBay Rolls Out New 'Combined Shipping Discount' Capabilities

Email This Story to a Friend

eBay said it is making several improvements to its "Combined Shipping Discounts" feature, which allows sellers to offer discounted shipping rates when a buyer purchases multiple items from them.

  • Extended Merchandising. Buyers looking at items will now see new messaging that encourages them to make multiple purchases from sellers to take advantage of combined shipping discounts.
  • Different Discounts for Different Items. Sellers will have the flexibility to set different discount shipping rules for different items.
  • Promotional Shipping. Promotional Shipping allows sellers to set a special shipping rate on items that meet some criteria. For example, sellers could choose to offer "Free Shipping When You Spend $25!" or "Buy 3 items and shipping is only $5!"

The changes will roll out in the next week or so, and eBay is hosting an online workshop on the feature on April 13.
