eBay Sellers Unable to Change Store Listings to Core due to Glitch
By Ina Steiner
eBay sellers are reporting that they cannot port their Store items to the core auction marketplace. Because Store items generally don't show up in eBay.com core search results, sellers rely on auction listings to drive traffic to their Stores. One seller posted, "I will soon have nothing on auction as I have listings that expire every day and then I add more."
A reader who complained of the problem said she received an email from eBay with a work-around. The reason for the glitch, a customer service representative wrote her, was due to a timing issue caused by having just "updated servers in terms of Item Specifics."
The reader wrote in an email, "Also, add to that the fact that if you have had a store listing with multiple items and you've sold any of them, YOU CAN'T REVISE the listing in all situations. Then your only option is to end the listing, relist it which costs you another $.06 cents or more just to put it back into your store before you can send one item on to fixed or auction. I can't believe I am the only store owner screaming." She added, "I find it hard to believe they will still charge us the same monthly store charge when the store doesn't work as usual because THEY made a change!"
eBay did not respond to an email inquiry by press time.
