Dana Cain's Collectors Supershow Offers Something for Everyone
By Katharine Swan
For Denverites, Dana Cain's Collectors Supershow offers plenty to please the child in all of us. Held several times a year, the Collectors Supershow is a great place to find vintage dolls, Steiff stuffed animals, Star Wars toys, vintage and collectible cars and trucks, children's books, and collectible sports cards. A large event room full of dealers' tables ensures that there is at least a little something for everyone.
The Collectors Supershow has also recently teamed up with the Majesticon Comics Supershow. Admission ($4) now gives collectors access to both shows. Dealers' tables almost always sell out, providing a variety of dolls, toys, and comics for collectors to browse.
Cain's holiday season shows provide a fun experience for collectors by giving them what they won't find at other collectibles and comics shows. For instance, the October 2006 event was part Collectors Supershow, part Halloween party. Collectors bobbed for action figures, watched spooky video clips in the hotel movie room, and even participated in a costume contest!
The Collectors Supershow scheduled for December 3, 2006 will have a holiday focus. Naturally, Santa Claus will be there, since you can't have a holiday show without the man himself! Other special guests at the December show include Klepto the Elf, who according to Cain is "attending as part of his community service plea bargain," and comic book artist Monte Moore, who has illustrated popular comics such as Star Wars, Star Trek, and Lord of the Rings. Judging by the guests and planned events, the holiday show is sure to be a lot of fun!
Information on the Collectors Supershow and a schedule of Dana Cain's current shows is available online.

As a child, Katharine Swan always knew she wanted to be a writer when she grew up. Discouraged by well-intentioned adults who tried to make her see "reality," she lost her way for a while. Her dream was finally realized after she earned her B.A. in English and got a job as a technical writer, which she left a year later to pursue a career as a freelancer. Her passion for writing is rivaled only by her love of 1950s dolls and other antique collectibles.
