Seller Notes Different USPS Rates on eBay versus Etsy

Dear Ina,
I noticed something interesting about the latest USPS price hikes:

- On Etsy I am charged 87 cents for a 2-ounce Letter Postage item.

- On eBay I am charged 84 cents for the same thing. 

It would seem Etsy is pocketing that extra three cents. It doesn't seem like a lot, but I'll bet it adds up pretty fast.

Note from the Editor: 87 cents is the full retail rate. Let us know if you're seeing different rates for shipping on different platforms after Sunday's USPS rate changes. And is there anything this seller can do to get a lower price for her 2-ounce letter on Etsy?

you can get better rates on shippo. They have a better deal than ebay or Etsy on many popular first class rates.

USPS Flat Rate Priority letter size envelope is $7.60 On Ebay buy on Amazon it is $8.50.

It’s not just the postage, it’s also the fees charged on ‘total price’ that becomes (relatively) inflated as well.

Amazon for one, Etsy for another.  Neither charge their FVF on Sales Tax paid by the buyer.

Rates on Pirate Ship are generally the same as eBay.
Sometimes a package going ''cubic rate'' is cheaper on Pirate Ship.

I wouldn't notice a difference because I can buy a label for a 1 oz. "letter" on Etsy, but unable to on eBay. Never could figure that one out.

To my knowledge, except for the Standard Envelope for Coins, Trading Cards etc., you cannot buy First Class postage on eBay except First Class Package. I have never seeen First Class Letter as a postage option though it does appear to be a "shipping" option for International.
