It is usually good advice to sell on multiple venues as long as those venues are producing money for you.  Just having your items sitting on any site that aren't selling isn't a good idea.  Find another site that works better for your needs.

I think this has been going on for a long time, Frankly it's the business thing to do, if you are a part time seller, then just stick to ebay, If not and ebay is your main source of income, then by all means start selling elsewhere as well, there are a number of sites with no or little cost to do so. even apps can be a good thing and even a newer on called whatnot.
Don't leave ebay, but add other sites if you have the time and don't get overwhelmed.

I currently have items on four sites. I could list on at least 4 more. If you sell niche items or small, easy to store items, it is worth it to get an occasional sale on the lesser known less traveled site. Google picks up your items if you tinker with your stores on a semi regular basis. Lately for me, Ebay doesn't do any better than Bonanza.

ok so there is eBay, Bonanza, Etsy.......what other similar marketplaces are out there?

Depending upon what you sell, Ruby Lane does very well but items need to be at least 20 years old. With the new fee schedule, it is free to open the shop and $25 a month for the shop. If you list 15 items for that month, the $25 is refunded to you. The commission is a flat 10%. Of course you still have paypal fees too. I do very well there when I list actively and best of all, they stay out of your business if you follow rules.

Just do an internet search.  There are all kinds of other sites.  Just find one or more that fit your needs.

If you can, go with your own website.

I loved TicTail site until the Shopify swallowed them up.
