I wrote this up after a particularly challenging day as a way to coach myself regarding expectations of selling online. Some of your readers might get a kick out it or have points to add.
The10 Demandments of being an eCommerce seller (or what you can expect, every day, from eCommerce shoppers and buyers):
st. Low ball offers for your listings that have no context to market prices.
nd. Questions that are answered in the description or title.
rd. Post-delivery discounts and demands veiled in language threatening your seller feedback ratings.
th. Scam returns from buyers with zero sense of moral responsibility of spending other people's money.
th. Rudeness, disrespect, indifference, ignorance, often combined in a few words in customers emails.
th. Delivery requests unproportionable to any reality.
th. Management and or control of carriers delivery schedules, policies, or personnel.
th. Requests for information without a thank you or acknowledgement of your time and effort.
th. Shoppers who shop, consume your precious time, and who never buy and have zero sense of the cost to your time bank.
th. Damaged, lost, deductions, and expenses in all of the above categories in which the financial recovery is at a time spend exponentially greater than the loss.
