Dear Ina,
You should definitely make an article about PayPal + AliExpress starting to work together. (Link to article)

This is incredible news mostly for dropsshippers, selling on eBay and buying from AliExpress, to work directly with suppliers there.

Sellers have to have rocks for brains to trust in anything operated by Ebay or Paypal. Its just another money grab.

Do they pay the same 2.9% I have to pay or are they given a cheaper rate subsidized by everyone else paying 2.9%

I don't understand why this is such a big deal. The way I read it, AliExpress is now able to accept PayPal payments. It has nothing to do with AliExpress dropshippers, or Chinese companies listing items on eBay or elsewhere. I'm sure AE pays less than 2.9% due to their tremendous volume, but who cares?

@Azseller is right.  This is not big news and wouldn't effect the US seller.  Paypal is a payment system, not an etailer.   BTW, I've gone to Ali's site to see what they offer and you really need a weed cutter to understand those thousands of sellers on Ali's site.  The descriptions of the products are vague.  The good part is they have a ratings system that seems to be fair.  One time I was looking for a digital camera and they have no-name digitals and I couldn't trust that the camera would work.  Plus -- returning it would take about one month to arrive to China.

A couple of years ago I had a product that I designed manufactured in China.  Most of the work was quite nice, but regularly I would receive some in the batches that due to flaws were not sellable.  The  agent for the manufacturer would not reimburse or replace the flawed items with items that were not flawed.  So if you order 100 widgets, and 15 are flawed and can't be sold, your widget cost just went up.

Guess who stopped doing business with the agent and the manufacturer?  And to this day I still receive emails from the agent regarding placing new orders.
