Etsy has yet again gone and made changes that they swear they run tests proving that these are changes that have positive proven results.
They have taken the shopping cart that they had allowed their buyers to store up to 99 items in (things the buyers wanted but just didn't have the funds for at the time) and combined the cart to allow a multi shop check out in 1 transaction.
This is not an option, our buyers must move all of the stuff in their cart (except for the few items they do want) to a saved for later file that doesn't save the files in any kind of order in order to check out with one shop.
Buyers have gone into the forums and started threads stating that the process to place an order with 1 seller has become way too much work and they aren't willing to empty their carts into a save it for later file that is just a conglomerated mess that doesn't even keep the sellers material together.
Why go thru all that hassle when they can just go to Amazon or eBay, find the same item and pay for it quick with no hassles. This is really impacting the supply shops.
Just take a look at the following discussions.
I can not figure out why Etsy even thought this was good idea, obviously whatever test they do to find out what buyers' preferences are not done with actual people. Now that they can clearly see they are losing buyers right and left, they still won't admit they messed up and change it back.
Between this and their messed up category changes and attribute additions for us sellers to have to go fix by the 27th (I have over 800 listings) in order to launch Etsy Studio, I'm really starting to wonder if they really have any clue what they're doing.
