Does Your Marketplace Support All Browsers?

By: Reader

Dear Ina,
Walmart sent out this letter:

Beginning March 9, 2017, there will be new browser compatibility requirements for Knowledge Base and Walmart Support (Case Management). Please make sure that you are using one of the compatible browsers listed in the article Supported Browsers.

What is the change and how am I being impacted?
If your existing browser uses an old encryption protocol (TLS 1.0), you will experience issues when you try to use Case Management and the Knowledge Base.

Why is the change made now?
Making this change provides a more secure environment and considerably reduces the risk of vulnerabilities.

What should you do?
Upgrade to one of the supported browsers listed in the article Supported Browsers.

Thank you,
Walmart Product Management

Signed,
J.

Note from the editor: You can find a chart showing which browsers Walmart's seller portal supports on this page.

We received the same email. I believe that the email was directed to those using out of date browsers normally found on older model computers that have not been updated.
I would think that if you have a newer model computer and receive current updates on that computer you should be okay.
Firefox is one of the usual browsers for use by sellers. The others are okay but I know on Amazon they want you to use Firefox. eBay allows you to use internet explorer but be sure you have downloaded the newest version and applicable updates.

Umm they don't want me to buy, no problem. There's more than one site that will take my money all the way to the bank.

Some of these companies should be careful that they don't bite off the hand that feeds them.

I received it too but I have been using their supported Chrome for almost a year. Firefox use to be my favorite but had to stop cause they have not kept up with today's tech.
