PayPal Inserts Ads in Payment Confirmation Emails

By: Reader

Sponsored Link

Dear Ina,
Is there no end to eBay and PayPal trying to use every form of access to customers to advertise! Starting this morning, all my payment confirmation emails from PayPal now have this advertisement in the message.

This business loan lets you skip the credit check. (PayPal Working Capital.)

Of course, it's right between the address and the sales transaction information.

We had an automated process to respond to the emails and now have to reprogram it because PayPal is inserting this ad into the emails... Is this all these idiots can think of, as we get enough standalone emails and other ads for this business loan stuff as it is.
Thank you.
K.

Instead of nurturing Marketplaces and bringing sales to sellers, they are constantly coming up with new schemes to monetize and give sales to those who do not even sell on eBay.  Many of these schemes take the potential buyer right off of the site.  It defies logic.

eBay never miss an opportunity to insert themselves into your business.

@"K." - It's been obvious for some time that eBay will try anything to generate income. And Rexford is 100% correct. If eBay would concentrate on helping sellers grow their businesses, and stop all these ridiculous schemes, both eBay and its sellers would see greater profits.

Rexford observes: ''Many of these schemes take the potential buyer right off of the site.  It defies logic.''

I think it's an admission of defeat. It's as if they have already conceded that they've lost the customer... and things like this are a final desperate attempt to get something (anything!) before the customer goes away.

It's pretty sad that eBay would rather have a dime for the parting click instead of doing everything possible to help honest sellers establish profitable long-term relationships with honest buyers.

Jerry Sandusky and Bill Cosby are more TRUSTWORTHY than ebay.

I would report these as spam to everyone's internet service provider, agreeing to accept paypal does not permit them to use your name to advertise their product, to others or forwarded every single one to spoof@paypal.com as these are considered "phishing" e mails

I stopped using those PP notification emails to reply to customers with a year or two ago. I have also for all intents and purposes stopped using PP. If they want to advertise to my customers from ecrater then they can pay me for it. Thankfully Stripe which now processes credit cards at ecrater doesn't do any of that nonsense.

And for al you happy PayPal "merchants", "PreyPal" has adjusted its fees; for a “virtual terminal, cross-border transaction”, the clunky intermediary PayPal is now charging as high as 4.6%+30c …

...after all the BS, why would anyone use PayPal???  Do you really want to give refunds on 6 month used stock, even underwear???  PP will ignore health laws like it ignores all other laws to see the customer happy!
PP was like this a few years back & they wish to return to those "bad old days"!  PP will give everything the buyer wants-free product, refunds, free return labels-Everything, while the seller is hit left, right & center for the fees!
Da Ho is gonna drive PP into the same cesthole that ebay has been under him!
