eBay Broke Saved-Search Emails for Comicbook Collector

Dear Ina,
I wanted to give you a synopsis of a problem eBay has now created with their category changes. I have historically not been one to always criticize eBay over the years but the last couple years it seems they make a lot of bad decisions. I primarily sell but this is as a buyer.

I have long collected golden age DC comics pre 1956 era. I have most of the ones I want but there are still some I am very interested in. For years I have subscribed to an email eBay search that comes in almost daily for several particular titles.

I noticed a few weeks ago the search now results in countless items for eras I have no interest in as eBay has no longer separates the comic books by era such as golden age, silver age, etc. So I tried making a new search but there is no longer an option. The only thing I could do is put the words "golden age" in the titles but virtually no sellers list that way as title space is valuable.

So now I will just delete the searches entirely and move on. Maybe eBay is doing me a favor as my kids will have no interest in old comic books and I am getting older!

Hello there
When I read your post, I was thinking this sucks...another eBay change we don't need. Fortunately in this case, that's not the case. I think eBay realizes many sellers weren't categorizing comics properly anymore so now if you want to search for Bronze,Copper,Golden age etc, just click on the filters to the left on a pc. It comes under Era. Sellers when listing just need to select the right era and it would show up in the body of their listing.

Unless the seller listing the comic has the time to list by era and all the extra (mostly irrelevant) tick boxes then the filters will be useless and the buyer will not see the comics they want unless they have the hours to troll through literally thousands of listings from sellers who can't be bothered to do all the extra work when listing a $5 comic.

eBay has compounded the problem and made listing on eBay three times as laborious than it was.
