Seller Reports New Barrier for eBay Auctions
I have been running auctions every week on eBay for years now; all starting at low bids, and attracting large amounts of bidders, with most items selling for good prices.
The auction format really works for me, and with the changes eBay is implementing I'm worried this might be doomed, even though they are asking me to participate in their "auction events", but when you want to talk to somebody it is almost impossible, even though I have well over a million dollars in sales in the last few years using the auction format.
Anyway, more and more the last month or so I receive comments from buyers (usually new to the site, or whom have not been very active lately) that after placing a bid or order they are not allowed to bid anymore until they have paid for that order. As many buyers like to buy multiple items in my auctions, they are unable to do so without paying for each item individually, which means they are paying for shipping each time.
This has already led to some "nice" comments from bidders about me not offering combined shipping, or me not letting them bid again, even though it is coming completely from eBay's side!
I'm waiting for the first negative or neutral feedback as a result of this, and I'm sure this new "enhancement" has already cost me bidders and thus money. Another frustrating aspect of trying to deal with this company.
