Why Are Postal Packages Going Off the Grid in Baltimore?
Over the past year or so, I have had multiple packages shipped to Baltimore, MD marked "out for delivery" and then never delivered (or at least not scanned as being delivered).
I do not ship a ton of items to Baltimore, so the fact that there were several in a year seems very unusual.
I have opened up mail searches, and after months of waiting, I get a call from a similarly sarcastic woman (I don't know that it's the same woman each time, but I suspect that it might be). While this issue is not entirely isolated to Baltimore, never has there been a single city where it happened so often with my packages.
I was wondering if any of your readers have had a similar issue with Baltimore or with any other specific city. Is it possible that there is a city-wide policy not to scan items as delivered? Or at least a policy of not caring whether delivery people scan or not?
The woman I spoke to didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with there being no delivery scan, and then she followed that up with a sarcastic e-mail saying that the lost mail search was "resolved."
