Sellers are overwhelmingly satisfied with shipping services and carriers, including the US Postal Service, during the coronavirus pandemic, and they expressed gratitude for the workers showing up every day to help deliver their online orders to customers.
We surveyed readers about how the coronavirus pandemic was impacting sales and how they were adapting. The survey ran from March 29 – April 2.
When asked, "Overall, are you satisfied with how shipping services and carriers are handling seller issues during the COVID-19 pandemic?" sellers responded as follows:
Yes: 93%
No: 3%
Don't Know: 4%
Not only were sellers satisfied with postal services and shipping carriers, sellers sang their praises. Many empathized with postal carriers and drivers who show up every day. "I feel bad for our local post office workers and others who have no way to not be exposed to the public," wrote one seller.
"They are doing their absolute best and are not being treated well; no masks, no gloves, and much more work," said another.
The following is a selection of comments sellers left when completing the survey:
The few items I have shipped have arrived ahead of time (using post office).
My local post office are just absolute rock stars.
Thank heavens for the USPS!
We are located in a very small town. Our local Post Master is amazing, even uses her own car to pick up mail for the elderly. Super accommodating Post Office,
I have not noticed any changes nor had complaints.
NO signatures are possible on delivery which is understandable, but there is nothing offered to replace that!
Service is as good usual with UPS & USPS
I think the postal workers are going over and beyond to help. Putting their life in danger, our new heroes.
The U.S. Post Office is in crisis. Committee hearing in Congress last week. Google it. That concerns me. Here, my post man is happy and jolly everyday. Yes, be kind to everyone who delivers anything.
I don't share the general view that folks doing their jobs are heroes. Police, firemen, medical folks - yes. The guy throwing a box onto my porch - no.
Canada Post, UPS and other carriers have been very communicative and, to date, there are no significant delays in shipping.
For the most part, UPS, USPS and Amazon Prime are performing in an excellent manner. Kudos to all!
USPS counter clerks have deer in headlights look.
UPS Store in my area closed.
The postal workers at our local post office are AFRAID, but they are still coming to work. Our usual UPS driver, who usually brings the packages to the door and waits for us to come to the door and chats for a moment, "drops and runs" - he says he is "very worried".
Haven't had any issues.
All my carriers are doing a bang up job.
Deliveries have slowed down but they are doing their best in this difficult time.
So far no problems with USPS.
I am in a somewhat smaller town and one of the recognized eBay/online sellers. I work hard to have the sales I have during this time and the PO here has recognized that vocally. My packages have continued to be delivered on time, so far and a few older global packages also have been delivered. It is slow at the PO, here, now, tremendously. Don't be afraid to go in if you always have, using social distancing. They need to still see people too they recognize.
USPS, UPS, Fedex have been great. We use Amazon FBA- very poor
I use USPS for all shipments. Operations seem robust so far but I am concerned about service interruptions as personnel become sick. They don't have much slack in their staffing and are unlikely to hire quickly.
USPS now picks up at mail box. I no longer go to Post Office to mail the few sales I have.
At this time, I have seen no difference in or problems with shipping.
I have not seen many changes, & my carrier has been diligent about picking up for me.
All major actors slowing down and delivery unsure
Royal Mail giving a great service in the UK. I am not using as no sales at the moment.
We have no choice but to use what services we have. I notice the shipping seems to be faster.
USPS has been running normally for me domestically.
On the whole, they have made changes to protect themselves and the public from the virus. But I have an issue with Royal Mail not providing anywhere for business customers to post their mail / mailbags in our own town, when the PO is closed until further notice. Their advice is to travel 10 or miles to another office to do so. This would be against a lockdown, as it would be classed as unnecessary travel.
I use USPS exclusively. I do not see any change. I feel bad for our local post office workers and others who have no way to not be exposed to the public.
I use USPS and have not had any problems.
My carrier has been fantastic. Picking up on time and scanning as if nothing is wrong.
I use USPS mostly, and have not had any problems for them to fix.
USPS picks up at my front door. Can't beat that!
Have not experienced any delays in either inbound or outbound USPS and FedEx home deliveries.
The USPS seems to be working as usual, although international sales are taking a hit due to restrictions in other countries.
FedEx, UPS and even USPS are doing great.
