![]() eBay is experiencing technical issues that have been ongoing since early Tuesday. Both buyers and sellers navigating the site are encountering the following error messages when trying to accomplish tasks: "Something went wrong. We're sorry. If you want to start over, go to the homepage. If you're stuck, let us help you." and "Sorry, we couldn't complete your request. Try again later." Readers sent us emails and reported the issue on Ecommerce EKG and on DownDetector.com. One reader explained, "For the last few days I have been getting this error message when opening or going to a new page through eBay links, specifically on the Selling Hub pages, or when opening one of my own items, or when trying to view an item on the search page. Nothing on eBay shows any problems, but do they ever show an issue? Looks like a server side problem. Just listing 5 items today and researching like items, I have seen this message over 30 times just today." The reader was referring to the eBay System Announcement board that is supposed to display technical problems - all areas of the site show green, indicating "All services in Good Health." Nor did eBay's social media team address the issue when a seller reported it on Twitter at 9:49 am this morning ("whats wrong with #ebay interface? keep getting these error messages since last night @AskeBay") Another seller reported it on Twitter this afternoon at 1:13 pm and again at 2:14 pm ("@AskeBay Please help! I keep getting errors something went wrong and my action can not be completed and before it stopped working I was trying to look at sold items to research things I was goin to list and it redirected me to totally different items.") Nor did eBay for Business respond when sellers reported the problem on Facebook. Even more frustrating than encountering error messages when trying to complete selling tasks is the knowledge that the problem is likely impacting sales. Said one buyer on an eBay discussion board thread discussing the glitches: "I was going to buy a $700 drone, couldn't. Found the same one on Amazon Prime. My Drone will be here Friday. Thank You." Another buyer wrote, "I'm trying to buy an item to get the 10% eBay Bucks and I keep getting the "something went wrong" message." The user wondered if eBay would extend the promotion due to the technical issues. eBay changed its policy some years ago and no longer compensates sellers for technical issues or outages. |

I have not experienced any glitches lately, but then again I am not about to go over to FeeBay to look for any. |

And the 1/2- A/B "mixup" was on purpose to convey the spirit of eBay. |
