We all know that eBay will replace one clueless bungler with another.

If they don't want me, I vote for rexford, Annie,RIC,Ming, or Marie. (There are other many exceedingly great people here that I didn't type in (lazy butt) that if happily vote for. Except tool - he's just wacky :)

Just in time to get another Bain reject to join the team. Ebay is headed for bankruptcy mighty fast.

Or just maybe they will be sold to some useless chiness outfit and scraped.

Either way this yo yo might have just realized that he isn't needed anymore and was smart enough to just leave before the sticky stuff hits the walls.

I so hate selling on eBay that I even quit using my monthly free listings. I like buying on eBay but I dread searching through all of the crap and relists to find one good item to bid on. Most of the good sellers are gone. Most of the good buyers are gone. But we will always have executives in charge of Seller Experience and Buyer Experience.

Alaska, so are you saying that those of us still selling on Ebay somehow are no longer "good sellers"?

As for buyers, the vast majority of my buyers are terrific.  There just needs to be more of them, more traffic.

Most of the sellers who post here do not sell antiques and vintage collectibles. Most of those good sellers and good buyers are gone.

@Marie - After Annie started her own web site she stated that she wouldn't be posting here as much. I assume she's busy making sales and doesn't have time to comment on the latest at eBay. Plus I don't think she really cares anymore about what goes on there.

They should hire JD back. We know how much he wants to maintain the seller experience LOL.

But for real I have heard of the seller experience team 3 times. Once when they announced them. Another when the fall update came out, and then today lol. Seems like a busy bunch. He probably got bored in his cubical doing nothing but trying to make sharpened pencils stick in the ceiling.

Translation: He was fired just before another horrible quarterly report was released. Lord knows, my "seller experience" during the Sweetmen tenure was God Awful.

I have no expectation that things will improve under his replacement. Not nearly enough firings have happened among senior managers yet to provide any expectation of actual change.

@Ina - YES! eBay needs to hire someone who has been a seller on eBay. How else are they ever going to understand exactly what it's really like to run a business on their site, and what obstacles are faced on a daily basis. How can someone who doesn't have a clue about selling on eBay know anything about a "seller experience."

eBay should have NEVER hired Mr Dumbbutt to start with.

He had ZERO ecommerce experience - not to mention no retail/wholesale/big box OR mail order (buying stuff vi a800#s and catalogs before the net) experience.

I again ask - would you let your gardener do your open heart surgery?

Just because he may be a fine human being (he may even love cats, starving children in Africa) and donates money to his church every Sunday - those things DO NOT make him a seller advocate or a leader for Seller experience(s).

The OBVIOUS question (elephant in the room) ... when is Uncle GRIFF gonna leave?

I would tell the replacement to get rid of listing fees, so that Ebay can actually compete again with Amazon

Ina,

A while back I had suggested to Ebay about having a committee of seasoned sellers to help Ebay create and/or revise things.  I felt if they were serious about wanting to get Seller trust back, it would be a good way to start down that long hard road.

It would have to be sellers that are willing to be open minded and not myopic about the various subjects.  As in any job there would be give and take.  But I still firmly believe it would help.  Well as long as the committee really was a functioning committee, not just one in name only.

Yes,  selling experience should be mandatory.

This company is not rocket science, yet the execs treat it as way more complicated than it is.
