Wondering why you couldn't access Walmart this morning? We were fearful there was another DDOS attack like the one that impacted many sites on Friday, but that was not the case.

Walmart spokesperson Ravi Jariwala told EcommerceBytes it was an internal issue. "We experienced an internal technical error this morning that affected the availability of our site. We were able to quickly resolve the issue and the site is available again for all customers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused."

We were first alerted to the problem through this Ecommerce EKG report by a reader.

Reports on DownDetector confirmed there was a problem, with many users reporting they were unable to access the site - a common report was, "error 521." Users also reported getting the message, "Sorry for the delay - we're extra busy helping customers like you save money. Traffic doesn't just happen on the roads - but we'll get you going in no time."
