In my first search attempt after this issue apparently reared its ugly head I was asked to answer some security questions. Not a clue if JD & Co. or a Hacker was responsible for those questions, I chose Remind me Later.

I'm just beat this evening, there have been numerous site issues throughout the day. 5 hours at least lost to it and one sale w/3 accounts. Neck & shoulders hurt from shaking my head while mumbling WTF is this maybe 300 times today, up 200 give or take from a normal day.

Cassini is next to worthless anyway. Being "down" [inoperable] doesn't sound like that big of a problem!

Ebay has been hacked again.

Yep, crazy on eBay tonight.  My troubles started at 6:30pm CST.  I could only see the Home page and if I clicked anything it would hang there until a message said no site found.  At one point it asked me to sign in, when I did I was re-directed to some other selling site.  I do believe they were hacked or at least scraped.  I did finally get to where I could change my password and was frantically trying to do so, but upon entering update it just froze again.  What a freakin' mess!

They had an Announcement  yesterday:  ''The eBay system will be undergoing general maintenance from approximately 22:00 PT (10pm) to 22:15 PT (10:15pm) on Thursday, June 18th. During this maintenance period, certain site features may be intermittently unavailable or slow.''  Of course that is the wrong time frame for the fiasco we were all dealing with, a heck of a lot earlier than 10pm PST!  I tried to put it up on the Status Board here, but it only took part of my text. Grrrrr.

Has anyone else been having trouble with their ISP today?  I have had a nightmare day of 'puter not finding the router/finding it/not finding it; long contacting host times to the point of getting timed out; and a large list of similar weirdness...all bloody day.

No, I think he is over at PayPal lending his magical touches to their business.  Normally when someone destroys a business they move on, leaving the mess for someone else to clean up.  What did JD call it, ruptured innovation?

I got another buyer promotion; this time it was for 3X ebay bucks instead of 5x, but still a good promotion, but unfortunately I was unable to search. Hope it works tonight as the promotion ends tonight

I wonder why ebay has not been addressing the technical issues running rampant on their site, yesterday it was major.
Technical issues on ebay are horrible, slow, no conection.
No shipping, and bad customer service about it.

More technical issues:  'Return Item' feature is down. Looks like others have had same issue lately.


Get error message:

''We couldn't process your request because of a technical issue. Please try again.''  

Trying again gets same result.


One way to cut down on returns, I guess. Or make buyers mad.

Whoever's now in charge of ebay IT needs to follow Hugh "Cassini Disaster" Williams out the door, to spend more time with their family.

It's clear that whoever's running things in IT doesn't have the experience or discipline to make sure things in a consistently correct fashion.

"Maintenance", indeed.  Someone re-pointed www.ebay.com to www.qa.ebay.com, and it took them two hours to figure it out.

That's unacceptable for a high school computer club, let alone a large international corporation.

Be easy on the IT dept at eBay. They haven't finished reading the "Computer for Dummies" books. As soon as they do all will be fixed in a jiffy.
