Why Did eBay Remove the Print Button from Listings?

eBay has removed the print button from listings pages, though the company won't disclose whether it's intentional. Since the end of February, eBay buyers and sellers have been unable to use the feature to print clean copies of listings.
That lack of documentation leaves both buyers and sellers vulnerable to disputes in the future. Buyers can file a claim for 6 months after a purchase, but eBay only keeps listings viewable for 60 days, leaving sellers particularly vulnerable to items not as described claims.
It's difficult to imagine why eBay would intentionally remove such a useful feature. However, the Print button was a workaround for determining an eBay item's selling price in cases where a seller accepted a "Best Offer" from a buyer - something we reported in late December.
Some sellers are wondering if eBay removed the print button to prevent users from seeing the Best Offer selling prices.
We haven't received a response from eBay about why the print button is missing - you can read more about this in Friday's Newsflash. |
