eBay Down: Twelfth Outage of the Year

APPEARS as though (I know many naive persons may disagree) they started the rumor about Google buying a 40% stake, then DUMPED THEIR STOCK.

If you own 10,000 shares, it's only going up by 1.00 means you made 10 grand. If you own a million......

How many shares do the top execs own, exactly?? Do we know? Good luck getting any sales reports on a Sunday.

I went to log in and got redirected to a Russian site. I don't think they're going to be able to cover up that eBay has been SERIOUSLY HACKED this time!!

Sneaked in to one of my accounts for about 5 minutes here in the UK, then locked out again.
Absolutely NO NAVIGATION or SIGN-IN possible.

I've seen another report of a redirect - if it happens to you, please indicate the time of day and where you were redirected to. Have an inquiry in to eBay on this.

Got an email about an outbid notice on something I had bid on yesterday, as well as ''new items on this search you've been following'' emails; tried clicking on those links, as well as the Yahoo Toolbar & desktop eBay shortcuts, and keep getting either sign-in screen or ''connection reset'' error messages over & over.  Restarted computer & ran Advanced System Care Pro (utility program) cleanup; got same results on attempting to log into eBay.  Green ''secured site'' font in URL bar on sign-in screen, and red ''wrong password'' message when I tried manually typing in an old password, so it's definitely that much of eBay that's still accessible -- but the rest of eBay can't currently be accessed.  Haven't yet attempted to connect with eBay via TurboLister; would prefer not to until I know eBay is up again.

Can't sign in with Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Internet Explorer. Wait all week for Sunday sales to finally get here, and this is what happens, this means buyers can't sign in and bid or buy.

Catherine, if I were the seller whose item you tried to bid on again, I'd be unhappy. You may wish to contact them so they can apply to eBay for compensation if you aren't able to bid before the end of the auction.

I can bring .com and .ca up,read the forums but can't search for any item for the last couple hours.

But then I thought..really what's different here...Ebay always hides listings..now everything is hidden.(again)

What a wonky site it has become..oh well..off to spend more money on Etsy...

I missed the earlier round of ''no access'' but figured it would catch up to me.  It did.

One of my accounts:  unable to sign in on computer (any browser) this morning, but able to sign into app on a mobile device. Have not tried to buy.

Unable to watch or un-watch items on mobile. Get error.


Glad I was forewarned of this recurring problem by watching this site.

I may have stumbled across the reason for the outage.

I was able to get in, and decided to print labels while I could. I noticed a new banner across the top of the label printing dialogue, saying "Your shipping label cost might vary from your listing, as we do not offer labels if the package type is Letter or Large Envelope in the listing."

Perhaps this outage is due to eBay updating all the shipping software because of the new USPS pricing recently implemented?

Just managed to sign-in to one of my accounts here in the UK, taken nearly 30 minutes.
Once in things work ok, it's just the sign-in, sign-out function that's gone belly-up this time.
The technical deficit on this site is like no other commercial site on the internet, it's like a Jenga tower of bad coding on the point of collapse.
Only when it goes under will the mainstream media and their Wall Street cronies express surprise at the news.

Those 30 cent non-refundable insertion fees from todays unsold auctions will go a long way towards sending out false rumors to the market and refueling the jet.

I would especially HATE to be an ebay csr today:
seller: I had 94 auctions end today and I need credits as they were not shown.
ebay csr: can I have the item number?
seller: ALL 94, HELLO?????

Since it's the login page that is broken, is that where the hack is?  Are they collecting everyone's login usernames and passwords?  I don't think I'll try and log in anymore until I hear what's what.

Down again, for those of you saying you can log in, be careful you may not be logging in to eBay. Reports on other forums that it is another global outage.
