Reports of an eBay Outage While Company Remains Silent

Ebay is down. Have tried accessing it from two different computers and through both Yahoo and Google. Messages back along the lines of "cannot access page" "page cannot display" etc.

I had read this on Slashgear this morning.  And not a word from eBay.

Barrons reported that Mark T. Carges, chief technology officer of eBay sold almost $2,000,000 shares (reported on July 28th).

Think he's going to bail?

And wasn't there a Tornado person refuting my comment about Amazon's stability?

I have tried to get on the site to check tracking on an item I'm expecting to arrive today or tomorrow. Tried from different browsers. eBay will not load. I get messages that it cannot load or "might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address." I'm sure it's just a "glitch."

Ebay is definitely down. It has not been able to load for the past 3 hours. However, I am able to access it from my phone ap. Not great for shipments that I'm hoping to get out today.

I didn't experience an outage in my accounts, but I did notice something yesterday that suggests that someone is messing around with the site.

For the past week or two, the Advanced Search by Buyer form was no longer working, instead returning a generic error page. I figured all was lost for that handy feature, as they had tried to remove it before, had overlooked one place where it was still accessible, but now that place was apparently deactivated as well.

But yesterday I tried the form one more time, and to my amazement, it worked. Yay! I thought common sense had returned to one small part of eBay... but then some hours later, I tried it again, and now it's steering me in a completely different direction, dumping me on the About Me page for whichever user ID I was attempting to look up. That's a key functional change suggesting that someone's been mixing and matching eBay website code, so the fact that it apparently went completely dead for a short while does not surprise me.

Apparently, eBay has very recently removed the "Advanced Search by Buyer” feature; they don’t want users to be able to keep track of any already known shill bidding IDs in use by the many unscrupulous merchants …

No lasting outage, things I noticed:

1) message regarding server space or something like that, Tuesday I think, but is only lasted a few minutes then site loaded.  Just figured it for another glitch.

2) when leaving several feedbacks on my second account: The first, and only the first FB screen had a brief pop-up that disappeared quickly. It appeared to be a warning to the BUYER leaving FB that the seller will be able to view the DSRs being left.

Ebay continues its illegal policy of failing to disclose and hide serious pandemic platform problems from Wall Street in order to prop up their over valued stock price.

Disclosure means less value when these bloated arrogant criminal sociopaths cash on their free stock.

I'm not in the habit of cheering on criminal behavior but frankly I hope and pray ebay is hacked regularly until such time as they start treating their customers in a fair and equitable manner.

Finally! we are able to process the 3 items we sold in the last 2 days...Expecting 1 to be returned (after it's been used), 1 will file a case against us for not receiving the item (even if tracking information says it was delivered), and 1 that sold for $0.99

Dreadful in the UK.
The worst and most useless screen ever seen has suddenly appeared, where it is impossible to get all of the items in the right place and order on the screen!

Interesting that yesterday 7/30/14 at 2:13 PM we received a ''MC999 Billing - Temporary Exclusion From Automatic Payment of Selling Fees.'' - ''We've temporarily disabled the automatic payment of your invoices. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but we've taken this action to ensure that you're being charged only for amounts that you actually owe.''  And on 7/30/14 at 2:20 PM we received
''MC010 Unauthorized use of your account. Your eBay account has been temporarily locked because it looks like someone used it without your permission. Your email address may have also been tampered with, so you might not have received any emails about the unauthorized transactions.''  Subsequently, we changed our eBay passwords twice and at about 10:00 AM this morning, I found our account was locked.  I had to contact eBay to have it unlocked.  
Have they been hacked again?

Twice so far this year we have had outages in this geographical area.  The first one was the scariest as it lasted something like 18 hours.  The second one only lasted less than an hour that I'm aware of.

There was an article here earlier this year about it.

@Marie - I don't think the eBay "glitch" was isolated to one geographical area.
