eBay Rolls Out a Fix for Free-Shipping Glitch

Will ebay indeed remove "defects" and neutral/negative feedback to compensate sellers for yet another instance of their consummate incompetency?

An ebay system glitch causing defects to appear on seller accounts which potentially eliminate them from receiving or qualifying them to receive 20% Final Value Fee Discounts?

Now typically eBay and ay the same time, how financially convenient.

eBay is determined to achieve their goal of eliminating as many sellers as possible from the TRS discount program. It is not surprising in the least that eBay may have intentionally created this glitch and allowed it to continue in order to expedite their financial goals and appease the people who really run this company... Wall Street.

In ENGLISH - "oops were caught cheating sellers YET AGAIN .... damn it. I mean all you rich sellers do is complain over and over. So we took some of your money - so what? Its all about making OUR customers happy - why cant you get with the program?"

Rolling out a fix? Is is a carpet?

He knows quite well what line of code was changed - all he has to do is have someone go back and change it.

The smug stupid answers get him no where. At least say "we were fixing something else and a mistake occured. We will double check that its back to being what it was and credit anyone who got hurt"

Stand up Lyin Ryan, put your big boy pants on and tell the truth - either your a liar or just plain incompetant - which was it THIS time?

I wonder if Mr.Moore knows how it affects a seller's business to advertise free shipping, and then nail the buyer at checkout? Is he able to count up the good will lost?

Sellers would be better off if eBay rolled out fixes with the same efficacy as they roll out glitches.

Ebay has done nothing positive of any consequence for sellers since The Ho and his virtually now all male crew of clinical sociopaths took over in 2008 if not earlier.

I've been asking the following question at least twice a year.

Can anyone remember a major "glitch" that monetarily either benefitted sellers or ebay that benefitted sellers?

In more than six years, one person answered that on one listing ebay under calculated ONE fee."Glitches" that that benefit either ebay or sellers should be evenly split given a large enough sample.

This doesn't happen on ebay which violates all known rules of statistical probability.

The only logical conclusion is that these deliberately programmed into the code to affect random features at random times thus giving ebay plausible deniability.

These so called "glitches" are nothing less than criminal tampering of code for the purpose of further illegally enriching ebafia and its mega greedy management.

Is this a joke? It's been well documented here that CSRs won't remove seller defects. Has Mr. Moore given special instructions to his "team" to make an exception for the free shipping "glitch," or is this just more lies to calm the "noise"?

100% of glitches benefiting the corporation removes the things from the glitch column and puts them into the business plan column.

Why doesn't eBay have the same passion for quality in their own work?

Sellers are held to high standards, while eBay programers fail to produce results.

Griff will stop "dishing listings" and get results for the faithful.

I had this same issue with SINGLE item listings a few months ago and reported it here;  The shipping was displayed AFTER the sale as FREE.  Do not know WHAT it showed to my buyers.  

Annnnnddddd YES I did call ebay and yes I DID get blown off.

So the odds are that  calling ebay will get a "defect" fixed = Zero.

Ebay will do anything for the sellers - as long as it is to ebay's benefit. Ebay has a lot of glitches. Shipping has a few glitches. Buyers have a few glitches. And the seller takes the blame EVERY time. That's why I'm MovinOn. 30 days until Aug. 20 and I cancel the rest of my listings on ebay.

Seems to me the ''fix'' is pretty simple in that correct calculated shipping is being displayed somewhere.  Just don't display the stupid column.  It doesn't show up on single quantity listings.

I have had a similar problem with Free shipping. I use inkfrog to list and several times over the past month listings with calculated shipping preferences have translated over to Ebay with Free shipping-and no, the correct shipping was not shown anywhere in the listing. This happened again today. It cost me $26.00 to ship this heavy item. My only other alternative was to cancel the transaction. Inkfrog says they are looking into it, but when I brought up the problem several days ago in chat they blamed Ebay. I don't know what is going on, but it is getting to be very expensive.

The FIX on the 17th made things worse on the 18th.

I had ONE listing with 3 items available with the ''buy 3 get free shipping'' offer.   FINE.

BUT when the buyer bought three other of my listings (NONE of which were free shipping), eBay gave her free shipping on those three listings ALSO.

The only saving grace is that it all fit into a large flat-rate Priority Mail box (Utah to Pennsylvania!)    

If the items had been any larger, I'd have been screwed out of more than $5.00

If its not one thing its another with the way eBay's lackadaisical response to each problem that goes on.   Sellers are told to hold the "bar" this high to make all the buyers happy and satisfied so they will return and buy more however eBay's "bar" never gets off the ground for some of these issues which is like going to a bad restaurant with slow service, bad food and over priced items - not many return.

The thing that angers me MOST is that we're openly being cheated, but those new defects that roll out in a month are going to kill us.

Right now, I have ONE "defect" for "Opened case for item not received".

Guess what!   The item had been received by his wife the day before and was in the dining room BUT now I have an "opened case".
