eBay Gooses Post-Mother's Day Sales with eBay Bucks Promo
By: Ina Steiner
eBay is trying to jumpstart sales on the Monday after Mother's Day - the marketplace is running a 1-day promotion to encourage shoppers to spend on high-ticket items.
eBay will give shoppers twice the eBay Bucks points when they spend between $50 - $99.99. Buyers can earn triple the rewards when they spend between $100 - $149.99, and four times the rewards when they spend $150 or more. There is a limit to how much members can earn, however: "Rewards are capped at $100 per transaction and $500 per Earn Period," eBay notes.
It's interesting to see which categories eBay highlights in the email it sent to eBay Bucks members: Electronics, Fashion, Collectibles and Home & Garden.
Only invited buyers who are members of the eBay Bucks rewards program can participate. The promotion started at 8:00AM PT and ends at 11:59PM PT today, May 12, 2014. "Extra eBay Bucks can only be earned on every single item purchased that meets the minimum purchase requirement specified in the offer. Valid on multiple qualifying purchases made within the promotion time period."
Do you think eBay Bucks are a good incentive? If you headed eBay's marketing department, what kind of promotions would you use to entice shoppers to come to the site and spend, spend, spend?
