Another unnecessary and extremely ill timed whistle which will disrupt the code in ways ebay isn't smart enough to figure out in advance or sand box.

The Ho PROMISED no changes in Q4. Q4 begins tomorrow.

I predict this will go the way of Ebay 'Gardens' but not without first destroying thousands of seller.

Ebay would be so much better off if they'd simply terminate all these employees (or transfer them to CS) who justify their jobs with changes no one asked for while refusing to make the changes that are so drastically needed.

ebay has done this before. They are constantly trying to get their sellers (who they despise) to drive traffic to the site. Ebay has managed to destroy their brand, and will never Invest the advertising / Marketing dollars to rebuild and expand, so they expect their besieged sellers, who live in constant fear of being axed at any moment to drive buyers to the site where their own items are hidden, and the competiton is fierce...

They can not end the "glitch" of the day, but they can spend millions in salaries and tens of thousands of hours of programmers time to come up with a "new" feature that is old as dust.

eBay management's priorities appear to be such that completing basic functions in a glitch free manner on a daily basis takes a back seat to implementing old as dust features which are christened as new to impress eBay's Wall Street masters.

If only Wall Street would demand that basic functions such as search and checkout worked "glitch" free on a consistent basis, everyone would come out ahead.

Big whoop-ti-do. Just how many 'curated' sites does ebay think people are going to want to visit and look at? EBay's is only for ebay products which shuts out massive quantities of interesting items that are allowed to show on Pinterest. Pinterest as a social media ecommerce helper is working. I diligently use it and am starting to get sales directly because of Pinterest posts. but there is a limit to how many people will use of these sites. Yet another turkey egg laid by ebay.

Every time EBay changes something people complain......Every Single Time.  Some people just don't like change, for no other reason except for their own comfort, and that is a known fact.  I don't usually have a comment about EBay changes because I am no expert.  I have not spent six figures on a business/marketing education (although I have spent 5 figures on an education lol), I have not researched and studied the market, marketing strategies, or market successes.  My education is in law, not business, therefore I depend on the "experts" like I depend on my doctor or mechanic.  I just go with it, and wait to see if it succeeds or not, mostly because I don't have the time to get an education about business/marketing, but they should definitely have a better grasp on these things than I do, and EBay doesn't want sellers to fail, because then EBay would fail.  Duh.  Look how wildly popular Facebook is.  Putting education aside, and using nothing but logic, why wouldn't EBay, or any site, NOT want to copy that?

Great : Definition in Ebay Context > Can make enough profit to pay ALL the bills and add to retirement.
SUCKS : Definition in Ebay Context > Can barely make enough to get by (that's why I left in 2008). A second and third job is now necessary (if you're still on Ebay). Retirement is not a possibility.

Hmmmmm, I don't  know, maybe because it wreaks of admitting that they have no original ideas of their own; it borders on intellectual property infringement;  it shows buyers and sellers alike that they are not leading when it comes to innovation; it is gimmicky and clutters the site.

"Wreaks of admitting that they have no original ideas of their own" is not justification for condemning a change, and original ideas are very hard to come by.  Unfortunately there are not that many Bill Gates' in this world.  Building on great and innovative ideas like Facebook is not Intellectual Property Infringement, and if it was, "Rollerblades" would be the only company who makes "rollerblades."  Also, last I knew, "gimmicks" made a lot of money.
