eBay Springs Feedback Surprise on Sellers

I haven't experienced this problem, but that's probably because I haven't sold a single item in nearly a week. All those "low value buyers" were my customers, and they are gone! Sales are down 60% in the last month, and that's 60% down from one of the worst months I've ever had on eBay. I usually make about 95% of my sales on eBay. This past month, I've made more money OFF eBay than I have on (and that's even with a slight decrease in those sales). Pay for promoted listings? With what money???

I stopped leaving it when I was no longer able to leave honest feedback for buyers. I will leave it if a buyer asks me to but otherwise I don't bother. Ebay wants all of their coddled buyers to get glowing feedback which makes it completely meaningless.

When eBay pops a surprise sellers know that they are taking another hit.

I use pre-filled feedback which ebay automatically leaves for me when I am paid. It works well and takes some of the work off this one-man-army.

In hindsight I would probably change one feedback for every one to two thousand customers so it is a non-event.

Didn't eBay state some time back that they wouldn't change anything on the site without giving the users advance notice?

In reality, the feedback change wiped out stored feedback for no reason, and didn't do ANYTHING to improve anything at all except opening up the text window - which wasn't necessary at all.

At a time when eBay is losing sellers, losing buyers and seeing a general decline in visits to the site, it's pretty hard to believe that changes like this will help anything at all.

It seems like eBay has no one at the rudder in so many areas now.  Here we see IT developers making changes to things that weren't broken and didn't need to be changed at all, SO WHY WOULD EBAY MAKE CHANGES TO THIS AREA?  It makes no sense at all.

Further, there is already a vast gulf between what actually goes on at eBay and what their "support" staff is made aware of.  So users can't look to "support" for help.

There are still glitches and bugs popping up in the system, so many such that eBay essentially stopped updating the "system status board", as it would be embarrassing to show the true status of the system.

So there is no  one at the rudder in other departments either, which leads me to wonder whose hand is on the main rudder at all?  Certainly not Ianones!

When you are loosing sellers, buyers, sales, and your stock is almost %50 less then what it was at the high - you monkey with features that no one asked about, that solves no problem, that angers sellers AND confuses buyers - and for what?

Jaimie is in over his head - this isnt Bentonville, hes a jr mafioso in Jersey compared to one of the 5 families in NY and yet he still doesnt get it.

As for what ever passes as "an eBay exec" these days - trained monkeys, dead fish, road kill or maybe the ever present KING OF ALL DUMMIES (since he wrote the book on it)(and god in his heaven - you should google eBay comic book - its great if you want to loose your lunch) maybe wake one of them up from their slumber and actually go to WORK (skip eBays free gym, the free food, the free child care, the free EVERYTHING) and actually do something POSITIVE for once.

Feedback in general has been a sore subject since it became another corrupt tool in the typical corrupt eBay buyers toolbox - since its just a one way extortion (ahem theres that MAFIA thing again) racket - so why bother even playing with it? Its like playing with FIRE - just stay away.

I guess (as many here have stated), eBay has NO FLOOR and just doesnt care about anything (except for the almighty VAULT) and the 22 cents a share it stole from sellers to give to stock owners.

Another day, another eBay racket!

Hopefully that was a temporary bug.  I just checked some orders that I haven't left feedback for yet and all of my pre-typed feedbacks are still there.  
I am doing this from the Manage Orders screen with all orders selected.  It's possible that filtering changes what you see.  But thanks for the heads up, I made a copy of my data just in case.

I just had this happen a couple hours ago.  I was about to just say oh well, no one gets feedback any more than I stumbled on the work around. I have zero plans to ever use the way they switched it to now and might not bother with feedbacks anymore if this is the new norm.

As a seller I'm not seeing this change at all.

As a buyer I see it.  Once you start typing in the box for feedback, what Ebay automatically put in there disappears.  In mine before I change it it says "help other buyers by sharing your experience."

Also here in the UK. I have rung them six times in the last week None of the CS reps knew about it. I also have lost stored feedback and if I use the current way it is assuming I am the BUYER and sks if I want to save this buyer (BTW that is I,ME, MYSELF, eBay.If I click yes it says there is a problem but asks again if I want to save this seller. I was twice promised a call back. After 20 years of leaving feedback I have now stopped leaving feedback but will if buyer requests it.  Madness continues

There was absolutely NOTHING wrong with the previous feedback page.

I'm pretty sure this is a bug and (surprise!) not operating as intended. My new feedback page assumes you are the BUYER leaving feedback, even though you are the seller. It includes messages like "would you like to save this seller" and the dread "did anything go wrong with your purchase" etc.

The only way to stop this is to create that "Mall" website I spoke of a few years ago.
Each page of the site has a "wall" full of links to "stores" aka Sellers private websites.
It's a varitable book of American Stores.
Ebay and Etsy are outdated concepts.
We're all grown up now, and have mastered the art of attracting our customers to OUR sties.

It is a real problem, & I thought they had gone bonkers, but there are many other problems that I have experiencing lately. One is the screen popping up when I go to click on watch an item, & that lands on the BUY IT NOW BUTTON instead. I've had to go on & purchase the items! Another is that when trying to bid on an auction in the last few minutes you cannot put the amount in ahead of time or it will disappear. You now have to wait for the last 25 seconds or so. A really big item are the UK hackings that happen most weekends, & this has been going on for over a year now. They have photos of all of eBay finest items, & after the hack they change the location to usually CA address. Then they do auctions, but have a contact name below. How many buyers have been turned off eBay when the items are finally terminated? How many have been scammed. I have not sold anything for a month now.

Same old, same old.  Some things will never change at FleeceBay.  A new crop of kids graduated from college, they hire the cheapest, and this is the sort of thing that happens.

I gave up on eBay with all these changes and things I don't agree with.
My eBay purchases are about 10% of what I use to spend on the site.  
I prefer to sell on eBid and on my own websites. Maybe not the high traffic, but I get sales and I am the boss.
