On the same day eBay announced a slew of changes as part of its 2022 Winter Seller Update that sellers had to parse through, eBay notified sellers by email that it was changing the User Agreement (UA).
It took us an excruciatingly long time to review the language eBay added and dropped (and moved around) from the new UA. It's unfortunate eBay didn't call attention to and explain in greater detail what is changing and what it means for sellers.
In addition, eBay included a notice that "Payment terms now reflect eBay's migration to managed payments" in its email to sellers about the new UA, but as far as we can see, it failed to draw attention to the fact that the eBay "Payment Terms of Use" is changing effective April 16, 2022.
You can read in detail the changes we found in eBay's new User Agreement, including new language prohibiting users from sharing log-in information with third-parties; potential fees for buyers who use its authentication services; and changes to the language around returns and cancelations for buyers and sellers and the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
After you've had a chance to read our analysis published today and look over the new User Agreement, let us know what you think about what's changing and how it may impact you. |
