Regarding 3rd party login credentials.... Does this then apply to shipping services such as Stamps.com and also to snipe bidding apps which are authorized to bid on a buyer's behalf?

When you sign up with an authorized third-party service, you give them your user id but not your password - a screen pops up where you're interfacing with eBay through an authentication process.

And what I write below is my OPINION (Isn't it sad when you have to state that up front because you never know when these goons will come after us) like they did a certain ecommerce news publisher?

As it relates to eBay's new user agreement, sounds like eBay doesn't want to be accountable to anyone or anything. The lawyers have been working overtime.  But it is crystal clear they want more freedom to dip into sellers' bank accounts without needing sellers' permission for whatever purpose they choose.  They might want to think twice about that since they have just stated that they are "hands off", just a facilitator.

My guess is the reason that they are now referring to Managed Payments as "Payment Services"  is because Managed Payments has already been branded by sellers as the overreaching Johnny No Thumbs payments rot that it is. And eBay's new user agreement doubles down on that.

Sellers will likely always call it Managed Payments or Mangled Payments so if eBay thinks that calling it Payment Services is the new shade of lipstick on the payments pig they are mistaken.

All it takes for Ebay to do is make a table:  one side shows the OLD language or terms and the other side shows the change.

Have long awaited eliminating the cancellation fee!  This is great news, especially for the customer who orders, then says they forgot to update to their new address.  I always cancel and tell them to update their address and re-order.  Because of the limitation in eBay where they can't update the shipping address and therefore cover the seller for INR.  Also the order where they select free FC shipping, and then send a message to confirm it will show up in 3 days.  I always tell them if they want it fast they have to re-order choosing Prio or Exp.

eBay doesn’t want YOU sharing info but THEY can freely share YOUR info with whom ever they please.

When you read an eBay statement and it’s blatantly one sided - it’s trash - ignore it.

I’m sure there’s a legal (d@mn eBay lawyers) reason - multiple people doing multiple things with the same login info probably exposes them to something that would cost them $$$$$$$$

Now if they would just spend all this energy concentrating on making sales …….

See Ina's post above.  You are not giving Auctionsniper your *ebay* password, just your username.  Auctionsniper gets an eBay-generated token that it uses to access your ebay account for the purposes of bidding.

I'm sure you created a username and password to log into Auctionsniper, but that is a completely separate set of credentials (I hope!)
