More rinse and repeat surveys from eBay.

I think that they do this periodically to make sellers think that they care.

15-30 minutes of your life that you will never get back and nothing ever changes that would be in the sellers' favor.

I've been getting heartfelt pleas for the last week (on all my IDs) about how they'd just LOVE to hear about my 'recent selling experience''.

Don't know if that's the same as a survey because I use the delete button.

They also keep telling me how to improve my listings so I sell more but when you click the link all you get is a recommendation you lower your prices.

That seems to be the only mantra ebay knows these days. Lower your Prices/Pay us More.

Yes!  That 'lowering the price by $1.00 could help you sell' line!  On a $5 item!  And they add, 'similar items have sold from $1 to $XXX!  So Helpful!!  If ebay is so concerned about my $5 item, They can Buy it!

Not sure why they send them out, I always give ebay a low grade, wonder if anyone gives them a good outlook. Funniest one's I get is if I'd pay more for premium services, UH NO, not making much now. If it wasn't for the virus ebay would have been dead by now.
Its only gonna get worse this year, lost in sellers because of the 1099 requirement and 3 USPS rate increases this year(Jan 9th, April 3rd will wipe out half my items with the $15 surcharge and of holiday season). None is ebay's fault but I haven't heard them do anything to stop it.

What exactly is the point of asking sellers what they think, when they consider them noise anyway?

It’s not like there’s a seller advocate or anything, it’s not like there are sellers at policy meetings. They simply dont care - so why the ruse?

No one believes “you asked, we listened “. - that BS went away yrs ago

I guess the survey means that eBay is ULTRA nervous about Q4 numbers, Poshmark getting into electronics, Etsy looking the other way when they let sellers sell new toys, home goods and more!

Between Omicron, no more stimulus cash and bad policies (like locking small sellers out of selling refurbished goods), the pressure must be on!

These things couldn’t happen to nicer people!

"eBay always puts the seller first." That's a totally false statement. eBay hasn't put the seller first since JD got his hand in the cookie jar. The remaining statements are equally false. I often wonder what eBay hopes to accomplish by sending out these surveys when they try any tactics possible to keep the buyers happy, usually at the expense of the sellers.

1.  Surveys don't really help companies make changes to help customers.
2.  Surveys provide jobs for otherwise non-productive ''PR'' techno-nerds.

Since 2014 I sell an average of 30 items per month. No matter the number of items listed, the categories, the prices, I sell an average of 30 items per month. I sold 30 items when I had 500 items listed and now sell 30 items when I have 1500 items listed. There is no such thing as growing a business on Ebay.

I received and took this survey as well, keeping an airsickness bag by my side after reading the questions.  Whoever assembled this sappy "survey" should have their toenails removed as painfully as possible!  ;-)

The truth is that those who have sold on eBay for a long time (over two decades for us) likely found these questions nausea-inducing, as they DON'T identify with eBay any more than calamari comes from Black Angus cattle.

eBay does this to make sellers feel important and influential, but this just made me feel sick.  eBay attempts to lead sellers on with surveys, while improving or fixing nothing at all of the problems that plague eBay.  And eBay KNOWS about the problems, but either A) doesn't want to spend the $$ to fix things, or B) simply doesn't care as long as the money is flowing in.

And the article indicating Etsy tried the same type of survey, but they were at least smart enough to behead it soon after its inception shows they may have actually learned something from the decline of eBay!

Gumball, you describe exactly what most sellers started experiencing, as iheartjacksparrow said, since John Donahoe came to eBay.  It is impossible to grow a business on eBay unless you are a major retailer or brand.  Impossible for a small seller. Rigged card game.
