eBay Keeps Cancelling Some Orders Today

By: Ina Steiner

eBay keeps cancelling orders today, according to some very frustrated buyers and sellers. A reader who reported the problem anonymously wrote:

"There is a new eBay glitch to contend with. Orders are being instantly cancelled due to "non-payment" creating a big problem for buyers and sellers.

"Discussion board has multiple sellers citing same issue. Multiple buyers are under impression cancellations are coming from sellers which is not true!"

People on this eBay discussion board thread titled, "Best offers accepted, eBay cancels them within 60 seconds as "unpaid"?" discussed the issue. A seller from Amsterdam reported it happened on three Best Offers, costing them $250.

"This just happened to me also," a seller replied. "I sold an item, and then it got cancelled. I relisted, he bought, it got cancelled."

However, it may be happening to a small percentage of orders. We found no reports on Down Detector or on eBay's social media accounts.

Let us know if it happens or happened to you.

eBay needs to appease their Wall Street masters, so this is the latest corporate scam perpetrated on sellers by eBay to steal more money through relisting fees they are not entitled to.

I've noticed a glitch: when I buy shipping from another site, ebay doesn't show that I added tracking to the order, even though the other site syncs it.  The one's where I used ebay's shipping still show up though....Hmmm.  A change may be coming where they force us to use Ebay's shipping system?

If I click on add tracking info, it shows the correct number and shipper, but doesn't give me a link to check progress.

It correctly displays that it was delivered, but I hope my customers can still see the tracking number and information.

Can't wait until eBay starts creating PURCHASES on behalf of users and just taking the money from their eBay Managed Payments Accounts....wait for it.

@plcombs

I also thought the same thing.
Their reputation definitely reflects that possibility.

I cant expect the scum to have any conscience or consideration to do anything ethical anymore.

This class of board members everywhere will go down in history as the ones who crashed the modern US economy.
All because they are incompetent, greedy, and lazy.
They wont step aside and let some real adults handle the decisions to grow a business.

@Ric

What?  How is Ebay stealing money?  The article says this is happening within seconds BEFORE the buyer pays.  So exactly what is Ebay stealing?  Most sellers aren't paying relisting fees, especially if they have a store.  And Ebay would have made more money if they had just let the transaction go through and not messed with it.

I'm not trying to take away from how important this problem is to both buyers and sellers because it is important and it is a real problem.  Just not for the reasons you described.
