Amazon Missing Link Stymies Sellers Listing Items

By: Ina Steiner

reader alerted us to a problem he was having listing books on Amazon - the link to Sell This Item was missing from product pages.

That led us to the Amazon boards where other sellers were reporting the same issue:

"Anyone else notice that the Sell This Item button on everything listing page is gone? It was there yesterday, gone today," a seller wrote.

It's not 100% across the board but appears to be affecting a lot of categories of products," said another.

The original poster also described the process they used to continue selling: "Which means I now have to copy the ASIN number and then search that in Seller Central under Add A Product to find the product and then get to the offer creation page, whereas before I could access the offer page from almost any listing page."

Other sellers were thankful to learn of the workaround. Let us know if you're experiencing this issue and if it clears up for you.

i've always used the "add a product" method on seller central since the sell this item on the product page seems to move around or not be there from time to time.

Happened here in the UK and drove us mad. We had just decided to reactivate our old Amazon account as well so thought it might be that we had not been listing for a year or so.  Impossible to speak with anyone at Amazon then  I managed to open six cases (in error)  as it was not clear that the first one had gone through) Four responses came back (robot probably) asking for more details and screenshots (obviously never read my query or viewed my already-sent screenshots) Then one-by-one I got replies saying the case had been merged with the previous one which was fine until I actually looked and saw they had all been merged with a CLOSED case with no option to re-open. Oh the joys of e-commerce tra-la PS and then a few days later we discovered it was working again, we started listing and selling (books in the main)  and never got any proper replies from Amazon but at least increased sales

I noticed it.  They took the Sell button from the product page and you have to go to the Add a Product to find if you can sell it or not.  They've made a lot of changes that are injurious to the FBM seller, which is advantageous to the FBA and sponsored sellers.

@andrewjtitcombe  It's the robots.  No human would reply to a case the way it's written.

This practice of blacking out products has been around for at least ten years.  Some of your products are never visible.  As a buyer it would be considered a bait and switch!  As a seller your just screwed.  They also block geographically, metrically, and countless other ways.  Welcome to facism
