Amazon Sellers Continue to Deal with Technical Issues

Amazon Seller Central was down for several hours on Monday, and sellers continued to have problems with inventory and disbursements as of late Tuesday night.

Some sellers are reporting that they are unable to remove inventory or adjust quantities or pricing of existing products because the Inventory Page is unavailable to them. They also say in some cases inventory they manage to post are showing up on the site but not in Seller Central.

We first learned of the Seller Central outage from readers on Monday evening and published a report on Ecommerce EKG.

As a reader noted in a comment on EKG, Amazon issued the following Technical Notification dated Apr 23, 2018:

"We are currently experiencing an issue that is impacting the ability to access all or parts of Seller Central. Our engineers are actively engaged in resolving this issue. (04/23, 23:06 PDT)

"We are currently experiencing an issue which is impacting the appearance of your listings within the “Manage Your Inventory” section of Seller Central. We are working to correct the issue and will provide an update once service has been restored. (04/23, 23:09 PDT)"

There are also reports that Amazon Web Services experienced a problem in which hackers hijacked some IP addresses on Tuesday morning that allowed them to redirect traffic. "By subverting Amazon's domain-resolution service, the attackers masqueraded as cryptocurrency website MyEtherWallet.com and stole about $150,000 in digital coins from unwitting end users," according to Ars Technica. "They may have targeted other Amazon customers as well," it reported.

However, there's no indication that the reported IP hijacking incident was related to the problems sellers have been experiencing since Monday.

Well at least they posted that they were having issues instead of continuing to claim that everything is finel on the site like Ebay does.

Amazon's usually pretty good about putting up a least a short notification if there is an outage. eBay has to be at disaster-level before they will acknowledge anything is wrong. Thankfully this website's EKG feature is here for the rest of us.

Since everything at ebay is always at disaster level, they would do nothing but post about their outages and failures if acknowledged.

Well, I run my business on both sites.  Seems people like to bash eBay more vs. Amazon. I don't take sides for any site, I simply understand that things happen and simply just try again later. Actually, both sites have their flaws and I've had my share of outages on Amazon that wasn't reported. I've had issues on eBay, but never extreme like some sellers make it out to be.  I assure you, the sky hasn't fallen. C'est la vie.

I agree with Silver Ice King
''They posted that they were having issues instead of continuing to claim that everything is fine like Ebay does''

Not only that but I rarely see Amazon having technical issues.

We're still continuing to experience problems with the FBA replenishment alert report.

''Seems people like to bash eBay more vs. Amazon.''

Fishermen tend to fish where the fish actually swim too.  And those who do, yet dock with still empty hooks, will swear those fish simply were not there.

C'est la piscary.
