Amazon is experiencing major technical issues in which certain aspects of its sites are not working. Most importantly for sellers - shoppers cannot buy things, and sellers can't log in to Seller Central
Not only are buyers and sellers having problems, but Prime members looking forward to watching Prime Video or listening to music on a Friday evening are vexed. There are reports of problems with Amazon's Alexa technology and AWS.
A seller reported the problems on Ecommerce EKG
("Seller Central is Temporarily Unavailable"), the Amazon Seller Discussion boards (which are working, thankfully), social networking sites, DownDetector, etc.
"What is wrong with Amazon website.. I'm trynna order stuff," tweeted one shopper.
"AmazonHelp why wont you let me buy stuff," wrote another.
"AmazonHelp you seem to be having major site issues....I can't sign in to buy stuff I probably don't need," tweeted yet another.
It looks like the problems began in earnest at about 9 pm ET. and were still ongoing as we published this post at 10 pm ET.
One seller wrote that they had been having issues with Amazon Seller Central all afternoon and evening, and worried about their ads. "It is affecting my ppc campaigns $130+ dollars gone with almost zero impressions and no clicks.
We've got an inquiry in to Amazon.
Update 7/30/16: Amazon responded at 2:30 am to say the issue was resolved. If we receive any details from Amazon, we'll provide them.
