About the new eBay Seller Hub,...

About eBay's Seller Hub,... now that it's been available to all US sellers since the late summer, how's it going?

The question is particularly timely as eBay rolled it out in the UK - it's holding a webinar next week to help introduce UK sellers to the new tools.

Regardless of whether you like it or not, it's unlikely to go away any time soon. As we reported in July, the Seller Hub is part of the backbone of eBay's selling technology, the company revealed at the eBay OPEN event in Las Vegas.

Let us know what you like about it, what you dislike, and what improvements you'd like to see.

As far as I know, I don't use it. They have always had a bad history of huge problems with their "new" stuff that I avoid it as long as I can. No beta testing. They keep popping up a window with it and asking me to try it. I don't want to get locked into it if I can avoid it.  How in the world could "it" be a backbone to anything? It looks like a stats page and nothing more.

I also keep opting out of using it, for the exact same reasons above stated by John. Being an early adopter with ebay is like signing up to work for free and help them trouble shoot glitches. no thank you.

I don't hate something ebay did for once. I like all the things I can see at a glance. As long as they file exchange alone, we should continue to get along great.

The only web page I use regularly on eBay is My eBay to watch the progress of auctions about to close. Guess which page goes away when the Seller Hub is enabled? I use SixBit for everything else, so I wish eBay would leave the My eBay page in place. I don't care what else they try to do as long as I don't have to use it.

The one problem eBay should fix is slow loading ads that freeze buyer search pages until the ads load. When that happens, it limits buyers ability to click through.

Back to the seller side. Since we pay fees to eBay, there should be no ads on seller pages.

We keep opting out of it among our five stores. We have found that nothing Ebay reports is even close to being correct. We aren't stupid we can figure out how well our stores are doing without all the Ebay input.

Just wish that they would quit trying to tell us what we want to buy. WE DON'T EVER BUY ON EBAY

I don't use it. I didn't need it. Hoping that I won't be forced into using it but that is my expectation.

Not about the SELLER HUB but about ALL ebay changes.

WHY do they never heed anything sellers say? We are supposed to be their customers, since WE are the ones that make payments to them.

LEAVE THE SITE ALONE. ALONE!! From October 15 to December 31st.

And preferably FOREVER.

How many years have we been asking this?  The holiday season carries enough stress. WE DO NOT CARE if your IT people can justify their job.

I want to know WHO ASKED FOR THE SELLER HUB. And WHY?

There is nothing wrong with Selling Manager.

So why change it?

Oh, there's stuff wrong with selling manager, but eBay usually prefer to "fix" what isn't broken in their updates.

I kick myself that I did not OPT OUT  when I had the chance.

Since Labour Day weekend I have been stuck with the new format for listing. I like that it is all one page, that is not the issue.

Problem is, when I open one of my existing listings to either edit it or do a sell similar, my pictures will not upload. I can edit any other field, but not the pictures. I have had multiple sessions with c/s and of course they admit this is a problem for some users.

Does not matter which browser I try or how many times I clear and toss......

About 10 days ago I asked to be opted out - was told it would take 24 hours then I would see the old version of the item page. Didn't happen so I called back and guess what.....I was misinformed....ebay will not let anyone opt out anymore.

I'm happy for those that this new part of the hub works for, but again, some get thrown under the bus because ebay coders are incompetent and TPTB insist in rolling out changes before they are proven properly functional.

I've been using it for a while now and I like it OK. Able to shuffle the panels around to my liking. But, I still use TurboLister so we'll see what happens when it's discontinued next year.

@Frustrate,

Don't worry about the holiday season. I'm pretty sure that they will rev up the "hide small sellers listings" filter during the holidays.

Stats without substance. This is what eBay is all about. Forget functionality as long as it LOOKS good.

When the Seller Hub first was introduced I immediately opted out. This was over a year or two ago so I don't know what changes have been made. I'm reluctant to say improvements since eBay's idea of improvements is vastly different then mine.

As I recall it was almost impossible to find my watch page and to do any searches. Yes everything was on one page but to do anything it involved lots of clicks.

Ebay seems to think they can keep glossing over any glitches but as everyone knows this can only work so long before issues come to the surface. Oh what am I thinking, silly me..this is when they flat out ignore their user base.

I too refuse to be a crash test dummy for their latest and lamest "innovations". I just wonder if we will be punished for NOT using it.

I have no issues with it.... It is just a more simplified interface, and not abig deal.... Moving on.....

I have been using it since it simplifies shipping. In my opinion, it is a compartmentalization tool to obscure the true amount you are really making for ebay, and little more than that. Most of the features are redundant and irrelevant.

The biggest ''help'' the Hub page has given me is to let me know what days eBay is not showing my listings. Looking at the sales graph tells me everything I need to know. The other piece of information is the info on the Hub page gives evidence on the sales limits they have restricted on me. No limits are posted on my account. Thanks for the heads-up eBay.

The new seller hub sucks, I tried it for a couple weeks and reverted back to the older MYEBAY page. Personally I wish they would quit wasting our fees on this nonsense. Instead of a seller hub which maybe 10% of users will use, how about developing a relationship with Google and getting our items in the search. to much  to ask i suppose....

The new seller hub gives me information that I used to track manually. I was able to more or less predict when I would be throttled, limited, and whatever else Ebay had planned for my business. Now it's all right there. A graphical snapshot of the manipulation imposed on my listings by Ebay. It also presents the dismal traffic flow to my listings from search engines. I think it's great.
