Amazon TV Ad Reminiscent of eBay Commercials

Amazon is running an ad on television that features delivery drivers and drones and highlights there is more to its Prime membership service than free shipping. (See Thursday's Newsflash article.)
It's not surprising that Amazon chose to feature its Prime service in the ad - the company made clear its commitment to the service in April, when executives used the phrase, "feed the Prime platform."
And Prime is not just about free 2-day delivery - Amazon told Congress last week it's working on 30-minute delivery thanks to drones, which are featured in the commercial.
The Broadway-musical style is reminiscent of some of eBay's classic TV commercials, such as this one from 2003 showing the diversity of items available for sale ("even a car"), or this one that helped get the word out that shoppers could choose auctions or could "buy it now." This article in AdAge reviews other eBay commercials.
Take a look at the Amazon ad " More to Prime" and let us know what you think. |
