Pierre is just a figure head. He's a Software guy. He doesn't have a Clue about the in's and out's of corporate sharking. People came to him, having seen the juggernaut that was Ebay....his baby, and promised him the moon. He never once thought unsavory, diabolical, and inhumane plans would ever be implemented...much less broached.
And now :  RETRO ECONOMICS will kick in an usher in the return of Pierre's Ebay as it was intended. Circa 2001. Complete economic and entrepreneurial freedom. Ebay will once again orbit around the sellers.

Pierre IS setting up the sale of ebay. He is getting rid of us so he can easily do it, trying to rid ebay of any encumberances or LIABILITY.

DESPERATELY WANTING sellers to sign away more rights with their newest "User Agreement" in order to unencumber them from we small time original sellers.

He is 100% BEHIND ALL these shenanigans- the ARCHITECT.

As always, Pierre, JD, Axelrod and others get all the carrots and we sellers just get the stick.

And again, we sellers are TIRED OF THAT STICK.

Makes you wonder about the real intentions of First Look Media.  Maybe it's a net in which to capture Ed Snowden at last, if you really want to get paranoid about it.  
Of course, given the shocking details of eBay's treatment of Craigslist's founders, no thinking seems too paranoid.

You can bet Matt Taibbi can't wait to spill his guts about Pierre's ridiculous corporate rules and regs.  If Greenwald and Scahill weren't still there (despite being miserable), he probably would have written a scathing piece in already.  But it's coming, for certain.

Small sellers need to vote with their feet the minute it turns 2015.  Use all the html tricks you've learned over the years and experiment with things like the Ecwid ecommerce widgets.  I have, and I love em.  Move ALL, not just some of, your vintage to Etsy, and ALL your new stuff to Amazon, 11Main or someplace else.  With all of us fun, quirky and interesting sellers gone, eBay will be exposed as the disgusting, predictable corporate tool that it is.  
Why?  Because eBay doesn't care if your family starves and your business is down 50%.  They don't.  So get walking before it's too late.

Needless to say my negative comments did not survive long on Pando Daily. Omidyar is just another shyster, like Johnny Ho and the rest of the bunch running eBay, and probably like most of those running the rest of corporate America. I suspect that, if asked, the only thing that Omidyar would regret was that he did not trade in all his eBay shares for the like in Amazon before he let the cretinous Johnny Ho loose in the corner office in August 2007; if he had he would now be worth ~$32 billion instead of only ~$6 billion …

First Pierre, I do want to thank you for creating eBay ! It was a GOD send for me and many like me !

To have a medical problem that limited you to either disability or total poverty, it was a real blessing to be able to start up a business from my home, and do as well as I did for my family and myself.

It was a level playing field, big or small we ALL got are chance to run OUR business and tweak it to what was profitable for us.

Say what you will about Meg Whitman, but she went around encouraging people to quit their day jobs and earn a living selling on eBay, OH HOW GREAT IT WAS !

You were my Hero Pierre ! I was so grateful you came up with eBay so I could have self worth, and work for my family, and so many others like me could do the same and did !

I loved eBay ! I wore my eBay Power Seller shirt, proudly ! My eBay hat ! Drank out of my eBay Coffee Mug, advertised, and encouraged eBay to all friends, family, and people at Post office ! I was my own Mr. eBay and a STRONG advocate for it !

I hated Amazon, it never appealed to me, and still doesn't I was die hard eBay loyal ! You were awesome in my eyes ! A real blessing for peoples lives to earn money working for themselves !

BUT in 2008 when you let Donahoe take over, it was like a knife being stuck in my back and twisted slowly to make the pain even more unbearable !

I have told all before since 2008 this and the people on this site, that when John Donahoes face popped up in a message introducing himself as the new CEO and he was gonna change this and that, and we are just "NOISE" and that he was ashamed of eBay etc.

I wept bitterly, I KNEW it was the end of my career, and my ability to earn for my wife and children, right before June 2008 when Donahoe took over, I walked to each room crying silently, tears running down my cheeks looking at my wife asleep, and my kids, and knowing that I was gonna not be able to provide or help them anymore with Donahoe, call it a bad feeling ? Intuition ? Sixth Sense ? I was right !

You Pierre, let that man systematically destroy me and many others like me, each update, MORE Pain and SUFFERING !

Severe depression,  crippling anxiety, high blood pressure, nose bleeds, ulcers, chest pain, I have  had it all ONLY since 2008 when you sat back and let this guy SCREW every person like me who made you and eBay what it was !

You did NOTHING Pierre ! NOTHING !

You allowed Donahoe to truly destroy peoples lives ! People that did not deserve it ! I contemplated suicide at times from the strain ! For example, letting me get low DSR's that stuck for 1 year when I could clearly prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that I did nothing to deserve it ! And your Reps would tell me nothing they could do, suck it up and hang up on me !

I wonder how many people did more than CONTEMPLATE ? It has been absolutely HORRIFIC what John Donahoe has done to people like me, and now he gets to ride off into the sunset a very rich man for NOTHING ! Nothing but self enrichment !

I believe that higher power will show everyone how we impact others during life, and Donahoe has just destroyed people !

So at this point Pierre, I am sorry to say I don't think much of you ! You made your money, Meg did, Donahoe did, and we got the shaft, the good small sellers who were buyers also, we built eBay by word of mouth, and we have really tarnished it with word of mouth !

There is NOTHING the new dude, Wenig can do, eBay is a ghost of what it once was, to much, pain and trust destroyed !

Just close eBay down Pierre, ride off o n a cruise with Donahoe, and reward his some more for destroying your once great innovation eBay !

That was insanity and cruelty what Donahoe did to the good sellers with no recourse or appeals !

ROT IN HELL DONAHOE FOR YOUR GREED AND PAIN YOU INFLICTED ON PEOPLE !!!!!!!

Back in the day (2003), I had the pleasure of meeting Pierre at the eBay Live! Community Conference in Orlando.  The meeting was in a common area of the convention center where a small mob of attendees were able to speak with him.

An interesting mix of eBay users were extolling the virtues of eBay...those people now able to venture into entrepreneurial endeavors from the comfort of their homes.  Those then allowed to supplement incomes, develop their brands and actually be financially productive on the then great site of eBay.

The mission statement was in the forefront....

Pierre was a bit taken by the accolades being showered upon him by grateful individuals from all walks...a harbinger of great things to come for all...then the changes, and tons of constant diddling that has brought everyone to the eBay of today.

A vision that is now blinded by corporate interest aka GREED.

Money talks and BS walks, I suppose, would be an appropriate adage for what once was.  Money does really change the moral (or immoral) compasses of the powers that be.

Like others stating in this topic as well as other topics, eBay should reel it in a little, no A LOT!

The sense of a once vibrant community is but a distant memory.  eBay is constantly drawing battle lines for seller and buyer alike.

And, if I am not mistaken, PO still sits on the BOD...Xanax. Lunesta and other chemicals would be the only way I could sleep if I had the same values...just sayin'...

Without eBay, my sleep is natural and effective...

Thanks for the opportunity by which I could vent a seemingly prevalent feeling permeating the eBay marketplace.
