Wondering what's selling well this holiday season? How about those items that have strong demand but few sellers? Amazon sends emails to sellers regularly about such items. What is not so surprising on here, and what is?  Not surprising: anything "American Girl" doll; Lego, and any board games  (even if it is a board game with a freaky name). "Lego Star Wars" shows up in the "Top" section of eBay's Toys & Hobbies category. But though the Star Wars version is one of the most popular types of Legos, I've found just about anything Lego sells well.

"American Girl" dolls are those wholesome-looking anti-Barbies that also happen to generally sell for a lot more than that tall blonde American icon. One "lofty" price: "American Girl Doll Of The Year McKenna Entire World Collection Loft Bed Beam +" - a set of four dolls and their accessories, including a little loft bed, went for $1100 on eBay recently.

The Harry Potter item doesn't surprise me either. But I wasn't aware of the demand for the "Elf on the Shelf." In fact, I'm not sure I've heard of the Elf or why he's on the shelf. It does sound cute, though. I also did not know there was (were) such as thing as "Zombie Plush Slippers." They would indeed make a funny gift, for that right person. They may also be a top candidate for re-gifting.

Do you have any of these items in your inventory? What's selling this year that's surprising you, and what did you expect? What do you wish you had more of? Post a comment here!

be very careful with the items in demand emails on Amazon.

Bottom line if the item has been the subject of a trademark/copyright takedown order, after you list the item it could take a couple of weeks but you will also receive the item takedown message and your account will be very close to being lost forever…

as we all know copyright does not mean items are fake

Be Warned…it has happen to Me twice

Amazon used to maintain a list of books wanted, but I haven't seen it for years. It would be useful to me now that I have a couple of thousand books to list, waiting for free time; I know where the books came from and approximately what might be in each box.

I cringed when I saw the topic of this post, but was relieved to see that my type of inventory wasn't on your list even though I frequently get emails from Amazon asking me to relist. I guess my problem with the topic is that when we first started selling years ago, NO ONE would be crazy enough when they happened upon a rare items that they had a good supply of, or even one copy of the item, would go and announce the fact to the world as that is part of what causes the race to the bottom with sale prices. This was what all sellers wanted to find out for themselves so that they could take advantage of selling what they had in inventory. A list like this could go 'viral' so fast that the market could be saturated or since this is the 24th of Dec. the items at this point could sit for days, weeks and months and never sell.

How about leaving 'goodie' lists like these on the back burner.
