eBay Glitch - Sellers Unable to Print Postage Labels
By: Ina Steiner
eBay sellers are yet again having problems printing postage labels for their orders. On Monday, sellers received a message that eBay was conducting maintenance when trying to print labels. On Friday, things got worse, according to sellers posting on this discussion board thread.
One EcommerceBytes reader wrote that as of 10AM EST, eBay shipping confirmed the following shipping issues:
1) Random Duplicate label printing/charging (check your paypal account)
2) No Printing of shipping labels at all in some cases
3) Tracking # emails not being sent
4) When labels are printed they don't change from unshipped to shipped (manual status change required)
"Any or all of these issues are occurring and have been so for the last week," he wrote. "eBay claims they are aware and that sellers should call in and relay individual item numbers so that tech support can look into it."
Sellers on the discussion board also reported problems with being charged for labels that did not print: "I just checked my PayPal transactions and noticed that I was charged three times for the same $17.00 international shipping label which has still failed to print for me once."
eBay sellers are pressured by the company to turn around orders quickly for fast delivery, but lately its postage-printing system has been experiencing glitches. It couldn't happen at a worse time as sellers try to push out their holiday orders in time for Christmas delivery.
There's nothing on eBay's Systems Announcement board, but you can also indicate if you're having problems by posting on the Ecommerce EKG board.
