AuctionBytes to Cover June Internet Retailer Conference IRCE

I'll be covering the annual Internet Retailer conference for AuctionBytes in June. It's back to Chicago after last year's Boston location, and looks to be another great event for networking and learning about ecommerce tools and trends. Imran Jooma, who oversees Sears $3 billion ecommerce operations, will be giving the keynote address, and featured speakers include execs from J.C. Whitney, Estee Lauder and Shoplet.com. IRCE again has a track for small merchants.

Some sessions that caught my eye: a timely session on taxes - "The tax man cometh - or not"; "Using Niche Stores to Grab Opportunities"; and an advanced workshop from Google - "Secrets of Effective AdSense Placement"; along with many other sessions on the major disciplines including paid-search and marketing.

The Exhibit Hall is my always my favorite part of retail conferences, it allows me meet with a lot of vendors one-on-one in a short amount of time, and chat with sellers on the show floor. As always, photos and podcasts will accompany my reports on the sessions and exhibitors.

If you're planning to attend, you have until March 31st to get the early bird discounts: the 2-day conference pass costs $795, a 1-day main conference pass costs $595, and if you plan to visit the Exhibit Hall only, the cost is $165.

And if you are sticking around to enjoy the city of Chicago after the conference, pick up a copy of our own Greg Holden's "Literary Chicago: A Book Lover's Tour of the Windy City" as a guide (link to book on Amazon).

Ina,

Be sure to get a photo of John Donahoe in front of a men's room for our collection.

Thank you.

David/Ina ''just say no'' and save yourself some money. I dropped this company's emails after the publisher put out a political statement about who and how I should vote in the last presidential election. The usefulness of this company has expired IMO and you rarely find articles or quotes from this company in private seller groups anymore. That misstep at the last election cost them major credibility issues with sellers. The buzz is gone.
