TheFind Gearing up as Ecommerce Search Engine

TheFind search engine appears to be gaining traction as an aggregator of product listings. This shopping website picks up products not only from large marketplaces, but smaller marketplaces and individual storefronts as well.

Earlier this month, it announced its "Every Store" initiative to work directly with leading ecommerce platforms including ProStores, Infopia, Yahoo Merchant Solutions to automatically include every platform's roster of online stores within TheFind's search index.

And today, it announced it is partnering with major online trust-certification companies including VeriSign, buySAFE, ControlScan and Trust Guard to display seals alongside certified stores within TheFind's search results.

Online sellers should do some searches for products they sell on TheFind and see who's coming up in results. If your items aren't showing, see what you can do to get your listings into its search engine.

According to today's press release, "Last month alone, 12 million shoppers searching on TheFind visited more than 90,000 different online stores after clicking out from search results."

Another time waster. My business plan via process of elimination and trial and error may not be ready for prime time until the year 2050. Google is king of search.

Just signed up, took 1 minute. Their spiders will do the rest, according to them. I'll try anything to help right now.

I just did a search for antique jewelry and estate jewelry. What I got was a load of new crap from China and a lot of repros. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. A total waste!!!!

Hi Joyce, those terms are likely going to bring up lots of Chinese junk from keyword spammers anywhere, especially on FraudeBay!

Hi - Larisa from TheFind.  The major benefit of including the trust certifications is that shoppers will feel stronger trust for previously unfamiliar stores.  Our users clicked to 90,000+ different stores in the last 30 days - adding this feature will make that number grow, and will make those clicks even more valuable.   We want to list all retailers, so please do make sure you are included, thanks all.

Just read the above comment from Larisa from theFind about certification. Problem is that it's just like most certifications: You pay a fee and get it. That's all.

@don & leafgreen
The difference is that I know what I am looking at. I am a USPSP certified appraiser and have been in business for 30 years. I have buysafe on my website and was one of the first sellers to sign up for it many years ago. I only pay when I sell an item, the bond is on that item alone, but is available for all items on the site. Ebay has been selling fakes from day one - they were just a platform! I could not sell a ''name'' brand anything because I do not accept paypal. If I used paypal I then could sell Tiffany, Cartier, Bulgari and all other brands. NO way I will ever deal with paypal. I guarantee everything I sell to be what I say it is. Check my website to see what I am saying - www.unusual1.com.  Joyce

This seems like a half baked idea! Partnering with the likes of VeriSign is a good idea but the concept lacks innovation and more to the point won't attract other ecommerce retailers.

I'd be interested to see conversion tracking information rather than just the usual visitor information. We all can get traffic to a site but how good is the traffic. Thanks Justin

Hi Joyce, believe me, I hear you, I'm an expert & published author in my field too. The problem is with jewelry, there are so many crooks out there preying on the ignorant. I was a jeweler before getting into collectibles, and the chance to make good money always attracts bad actors. Perhaps you should contact the find's owners directly & offer to help them eliminate garbage, but it would probably turn into a fulltime job. And if they are as responsive as Ebay, you'll be wasting time. Perhaps Larisa can tell us other steps besides an easy to purchase seal they are taking to help prevent fraud.
