PayPal Runs Twitter-Facebook Dad's Day Sweepstakes

By: Ina Steiner

Sponsored Link

PayPal is giving away a total of $1,250 to five randomly chosen members who tell the online payment service why their father "is the best" using social networking sites. The PayPal Shopping Dads Sweepstakes runs through June 21, 2009, and asks users to share stories about their father via Facebook or Twitter. PayPal will conduct a random drawing conducted at the end of the promotion period to award five Grand Prizes of $250 to be deposited into the winners' PayPal accounts.

To enter the Sweepstakes, sign up to be a fan of the Facebook PayPal Shopping page. Then submit a post to the Facebook Discussions Board answering the question: "Got a great Dad? Tell us why he is the best."

Likewise, users can enter the Sweepstakes via Twitter. Sign in and go to Twitter.com/PayPalShopping Twitter page and click "Follow." You must then post a public reply (or @reply) to the "PayPalShopping" twitter account answering the question: "Got a great Dad? Tell us why he is the best" (a twitter post, update or tweet that contains @PayPalShopping, ie: "@PayPalShopping [your answer here]").

My father is the best because he told me never trust corporate America and most certainly NOT eBay Inc or the Paypal division that has delusions of being a Government and bank all rolled into oneā€¦as in the end they will always sc@ew you over

Makes you wonder that with all those billions of dollars eBay rakes in via your pockets and wallets, why they are the cheapest when it comes to prize money. (???)

Geez! Make it worth while you greedy slobs!

Like they give a carp for anybody's Dad. Gosh...what they won't do to portrait themselves as caring..

***puke***

Absolutely pitiful!

Makes me wonder just how much is Ebay hurting?  All these contests, coupons, etc.  They've left no stone unturned....except for the one that makes them treat their customers (the sellers) like human beings instead of crooks.  I'm afraid the "noise" and the drain of traffic continues.  Play on....

My dad passed away in 2002. My kid's Dad pretends like he isn't a dad, so he's out too. I guess I can't enter that contest! Oh well, besides, I can't stand facebook. It's bad enough having ebay mess with my scrolling and locking up my computer, Facebook is just as bad.

Some of us older antique dealers won't be  participating, so paypal will have to rely on the younger folks who sell online.

Wow!  A whopping $250 times five!  From a behemoth raking in BILLIONS!

Wonder how many pathetic entries this will garner?

I wouldn't so demean my father's memory.  He was a WWII veteran at Iwa Jima, Okinawa, the Phillipines, and more.  Five major campaigns in the Pacific Theater, 80 percent casualty replacement.

He was a man of honor, integrity and character.

Wow, looks like Peter Thiel is up to his old ways again. If Twitter is going to be another outlet for paypal and ebay then I'll just wait for google

My Dad told me, don't listen to what they're saying. Look at what they're not saying

Our answer :

The feedback we left was accurate and truthful. If was a NON PAYING bidder who gaves us a hard time. There is no longer a negative button for bad buyers so we had no choice.
Please leave that truthful feedback intact as to alert other sellers that a bad buyer is still on your site bidding and then trefusing to pay.
Thank You.

Sales report for 6/1 weekend:
123 item listed, 21 sales on Amazon, fees app. $40
400 item listed, 3 sales on ecrater, fee 0
500 item listed, 3 sales on ebay, fees over $150 for under $50 return. Time to close my Ebay acct.

My dad in Heaven told me to stop wasting my time & fees to pay a CEO that belongs in Hell. Thanks Ebay, I was 10 years a powerseller, never even tried Amazon, until King JD destroyed a brilliant, recession proof model.Best match is a insult & fraud. Register your crummy fraudulent buyers instead of creating more big woop facebook sweepstakes. Cut the heads off top management, Ebay, time for St George to slay this dragon.

by: NOT A SWEEPSTAKES

Thu Jun 4 15:33:17 2009

If you must answer a question, submit an answer, or otherwise more than just your mailing name & address, then what a sponsor is conducting is NOT a sweepstakes but a Contest. Which is illegal in a lot of states INCLUDING NEW YORK. Thats a lot scambay.
