eBay Sellers in Thailand: Check PayPal Exchange Rates

By: Ina Steiner

I received a voice mail message yesterday from a seller based in Thailand. He said that  PayPal pegged the Thai Baht at 23 to the dollar, which is 50% worse than the Forex exchange rate. He wondered if it was an error on PayPal's part.

I sent an inquiry to PayPal's PR department, and received a reply today.

"We were displaying an exchange rate for the Thai Baht based on inaccurate information we received from our banking partner. We've corrected the error within hours and will follow up with affected customers directly."

It shows that it pays to check your transaction details, and check them frequently. Post here if you had the problem and if it's been resolved.
