I'm not familiar with this publication, Travolution is reporting that eBay is "on target to unveil a full-fledged online travel agency model." If it does, I imagine it would be a separate site, like eBay Motors.

The concept sounds interesting, but why now?

Overstock recently sold its Travel site, not sure what the history is with that venture.

A travel site would make since in their portfolio but in this case I would suggest an acquisition rather than building something. They could have bought Travelocity at one point.

I have heard something about this before and thought it was a good concept.  Travel industry is hurting and needs a boost.
