Well, if they do, what are the odds that eBay won't allow sellers to offer that method of payment, either? They've already disallowed Google Checkout, I'm sure they wouldn't let a Microsoft payment system in, either.

When the majority of eBay's income is from PayPal, I can understand why they're afraid to let people use something else, of course. ;)

When the two big guys (Google and Microsoft) get into the payments business eBay has to be worried. They can protect their domain (eBay, Skype) for awhile but the rest of ecommerce is huge and growing faster thane eBay

I'm sure everyone realizes by now that eBay is past its prime.  Way past.  With more and more auction sites coming up and some of them even moderately (although not hugely like eBay was) successful, and more players coming in to the online payment world, indeed eBay will HAVE to be worried.  What I don't understand is why they felt it necessary to raise their fees once again.  They're already making a very decent profit and raising the price of your product (listings) at this time seems counter-intuitive and would just drive your customers (sellers) to try out one or more of the others venues...

Oh no! No someone else on the bandwaggon! This will be on the eBay banned list like Google checkout. Paypal needs all the competition it can get as the fees for the payment method are still too high and their treatment of customers poor.
