How come no one is selling Its on eBay?
By: Ina Steiner
Apparently some people are searching eBay for "It," or at least one person did. Here's what Ian Schafer, president of Deep Focus, said in a review of eBay's ad campaign by iMediaConnection.com:
While the option to download an "it" poster is cute, I thought it would have been cooler to actually have an "it" available for purchase on eBay.com. After all, the site says to search for "it" on eBay. I did, and nothing relevant to the campaign showed up. Something like the CP+B campaign for Burger King should have proven that customer demand for an advertising prop can at least be faked - if not created. (Link.)
The only problem is, there are 58714 items found for "It" on eBay, how in the world would you get your It item to show up on the first page of results, except for the final hours of the auction.
By the way, the first item when I did my search? A Dooney & Bourke It Bucket Bag listed with a $19.99 starting bid. It ending as I watched with a winning bid of $75. You can have It all!
