UDPATE 1/23/2023: The USPS said the message impacts orders of stamps and supplies placed on the USPS website store only - there is no disruption to Priority Mail service as first reported.

We've revised the story to try and eliminate confusion.

The USPS website is displaying an alert on its website today, January 23, warning of an impact to Priority Mail delivery times next week:

Alert: Due to systems upgrades, orders placed Tuesday, January 31, 2023, through Sunday, February 5, 2023, will require an additional 3-5 business days for delivery.

All Priority Mail Express will be suspended from Monday, January 30, 2023, after 10:00 am CST to Sunday, February 5, 203. Priority Mail Express will resume on Monday, February 6, 2023. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you.

As noted in the update above, this only applies to orders placed on the USPS website.

If you order stamps on USPS next week, your orders will take longer than normal - but there is no disruption to Priority Mail service.

I think OP has read this announcement wrong. The service is being interrupted for stamp orders made through the website, not delivery of packages in general.

@DTSM Thanks, the USPS has clarified that is the case. There is no disruption to Priority Mail service.

It only impacts orders placed on the USPS website itself (for example, if you buy stamps next week, it will take longer than usual to receive them), as DTSM notes.
