What should a marketplace do when it makes a mistake that proves costly to a seller in terms of both lost sales and actual expense?
An Amazon seller who found himself on the receiving end of such a mistake found out.
Ed Rosenberg, founder of the Amazon Sellers Group ( ASGTG.com), published the following letter a member of his group received from Amazon FBA Seller Support:
Greetings from FBA, You are receiving this email because some or all of your inventory was incorrectly marked as expired and returned to you sometime in the last 5 months. The issue was caused by a system error that we have since resolved.
We apologize for the error and have applied a credit of $1.00 to your Seller account due to removal fees you incurred.
We appreciate your understanding and thank you for selling on Amazon. Thank you, Amazon
We're curious if other sellers have run into similar situations, or if it's an anomaly - both in terms of the nature of the mistake Amazon made, and the reparation amount it offered the seller. |
