eBay Silences Founding 'Voices' Members

There are plenty of Ebayers talking to the media, and more everyday. The problem is, they are telling the unpleasant truth Ebay is trying to hide. They are selling their best customers down the river to chase some kind of utopia filled with newly made common & counterfeit trash, while giving up nothing but lip service, and barely even that. Ebay should stop wasting money on Lieworld, and start spending on Ebay seller retention. Some customer service would be nice. They expect us to live & die by the customers words, well how about taking a baby step towards VERIFYING user identity. And last but most important, kill best match, fire everyone involved and make the search work again. That one thing alone will increase sales for everyone. Forcing my collectibles buyers to look at toilet paper for $10 a roll ain't making them buy it. It's making them leave En masse.

Any ebafia manager whose job will be to "interface" ebay sellers with the media is nothing less than Der Füher's new Minister of Propaganda who will parade seller victims of Stockholm Syndrome and paid flunkies like Ebay Pays My Bills.

NOW is the time to let media know that these people will be receiving some form of compensation from ebafia in exchange for their glowing endorsements and that media outlets will be doing nothing more than repeating ebay produced and completely orchestrated infomercials.

Ebay is ethically bankrupt and becoming more so everyday. But then we already knew that, didn't we?

Email every TV and e-business journal online and advise them of this latest ebafia scheme.

Can someone please inform Donodumb that there is a very large web and there are already millions of very large retailers who do no need ebay in the least to sell their products.

This man is EVIL

I think his entire life history should be thoroughly investigated by the highest law enforcement officials.

This guy is up to everything but trying to help grow ebay. I can't put my finger on just what it is he is up to but it just has to be something CRIMINAL.

Could you imagine this man running a state or even your city?

I wouldn't put him behind the counter in my corner convenience store at minimum wage. I wouldn't want this CREEP  working for free taking out my garbage. He's a despicable TYRANT.
I wouldn't want any association at all to him.

The people of California better hope and PRAY that Meg Whitman doesn't win governorship. If she left this LOON in charge of ebay on her recommendations I don't trust her either.

It's really getting scary how terrible Donohoe is. There aren't enough words to describe how BAD he is.

He's freaking terrible. I wonder what is wrong with him?
He really isn't fit to run anything. I hope his next position is making license plates in the penitentiary for whatever this fraud scheme he is cooking up here on ebay.

It's getting real creepy like.

Who in their right mind could look at one single thing he has changed since he took over and say it was a good change?

He has created a very solid ebay death pact.

I wish I would have had a chance to have gotten out last year. I have a little bit more inventory to go and then I'm finished for good!

No buying no selling until Donohole goes!

I remember Cheney saying there was lots of money being spent online & he was frustrated he couldn't figure out how to get his hands on it. Maybe Donaho is the Axeman to destroy a fair & legitimate enterprise & scrooo us all. The Multi Death Corporations are already trying to take away your right to resell goods you have purchased, like Cd & Dvds, is it that far to imagine this is all a plan to destroy a bastion of free trading? As greed gets bigger, margins smaller & less money flowing, the 1% scum floating on top (Or as GWB called them "My constituents") will tighten the nooses anyway they can to wring the last nickel from the working poor..

You guys are still in denial. Ebay is not an entity in an of itself. It is a company that was born out of the brain of Pierre Omidyar, don't ever forget that. It's his, and it will always be his. It will be his decision what happens, one way, or the other. It has been, and it always will be, his decision. He is the President of the Board of directors. He will ultimately hire or fire any person who runs ebay. You know he hired John Donahoe. He hires him to take Ebay apart and take it down into pieces to sell it. He's done with it! Don't you get it? He has that right,  and in some ways, I can see why he wants  to dump it. Passing it on to another owner, in the state it's in, would have have been a dis-service. Too many lawsuits, too many problems, and too many greedy fighting buyers and sellers. I ca see why he wants out and why he hired Dennis the Menace as his undertaker. Move on. Yes, it is unfortunate that the truth couldn't be given to us directly. We deserved to hear it, instead of having to put the pieces together ourselves.

There should be a formal gathering to have a eulogy and funeral for Ebay as we know it, so we can say our final goodbyes.Closure is what is REALLY needed.

I see that the ebaystink blog (linked above by Zeke) has rallied the troops. The voices of eBay have joined eBay blogger Richard in bashing Ina for BLOGGING as opposed to NEWS reporting. Huh. Isn't that what Richard does? Pffft.

I am not sure why the rejected voices members would be defending ebay's honor. Does that make any sense?

I hope that the mega diamond sellers will all be buying each others items,  because all the small people that have been alienated and abused are not going to be doing any biz on ebay. I doubt too many others will either, since near everything you see there now can be found at your local big box mart or dollar store for less money and way less hassle.

Oh and Ming, can you point  us to your blog? I think we would all like to read that.

And we all know about the nuremburg rally that is the Ebay message boards where dissenters are shouted down, tag teamed by users with 2 feedback that can mysteriously post thousands of messages a day (limit is 10 for REAL users) and will reperatedly run to report every post that reeks of the truth about Ebay. Regular posters to their boards have all been dealt with thusly. Dadoggy, cinderfella, and Dakid are all the same Lieworld stooge. Ebay lawyer & paypal's #1 fan Sandy Purins=clinic lady, it always cracks me up when she answers her own posts with an "attaboy", I think she's the one hearing voices. Other Cheerliars/ board stooges? Couldabeenworse, 39503, profdata, grandmaalaska, old klutz will all get carpal tunnel from all the daily posts
lying about Ebay. Here's the tactics: 1.Discredit the user. Immediately, these stooges run to the feedback, dredge up any black mark & question the integrity of the poster.
2.double/triple team. Shout them down til they leave. If they won't, nitpick & report, report, report til they get offed.
3. Find fault. Even if you managed to do everything right, the cheerliars will say , "hey you must have told PP to take your money from the bank", hey you didnt get tracking, hey Ebay is wonderful, sieg heil!
This blog is about the only place where the liars can't remove bad posts about Greedbay's plan: Today your money, tomorrow the world!
So now they are trying to discredit Ina & David.
Google Liveworld, they are "social engineers" they are paid by Ebay to hush dissent & post Goody Good news everywhere. They studied Dr Goebbels playbook. Too bad, there's more of us!
You can smell the desperation all the way from San Jose, as sales continue to die at Ebay & takeoff everywhere else. The economy is recovering, but Ebay needs a mercy bullet between the eyes.

The ebaystink blog most definitely moderates comments. They saw fit to refuse my comment about Richard's bashing of Ina.   No profanity; no hate speech; no personal attacks. Yet they would not post my opinion because it differed from Richard's and eBay's opinions.

Hey, Richard/eBay and your little band of defenders whose comments DID get accepted! This is not a newspaper. It's a blog. It doesn't have to be all hard news. I would much rather hear Ina and David's EDUCATED opinions as part of their blog posts than the fuzzy, happy, cheery, no dissent carp that shows up on ebaystink.

8 comments over there at ebaystink and at least 3 of them are from Voices of the Community and 1 looks to be from an eBay employee or Voice. Yup. Good "journalism" there, Richard.

I commented there asking about disclosure agreements/voice members -vs- being able to comment truthfully on topics related to them. They removed the post.  As if I had signed a DA not being a member of anything....LOL

Ebay may not be what it once was but it's still the best place to sell one's good's on.

The rules change faster then I change underwear! But it still works and works somewhat well.

The other web sites have NO traffic! NONE!

Ebay's still the only game in town with real ACTION!

I've changed from auction sales to fixed price until the summer ends and the buying season starts again.

Ebay, the company I love to hate and the company I hate to love.

I'm still hanging in there but manyh sellers have thrown in the towel.

Sorry. You are wrong about other sites. My own site as well as those of many, many former eBayers are doing just fine. And the cost of doing business is much less. Hence our profits are better than anything we could gain on eBay.

We don't have to cheerlead to be found in a search either.

You work for EBay, don't you? None of us very angry Powersellers failed. It was EBay management who failed us by making the decision to eject us by any means necessary, to turn EBay into a liquidators online lot. I was a Popwerseller and doing fine business until these changes came. Finally it was inescapable even to the most wishful-thinking that we medium Powersellers were simply unwanted. We all know the drill, the DSRs, Best Match, micromanaging, etc.

None of us would be so bitter if we hadn't been so clearly shown the door by Donohoe, and at the worst possible time, a recession. He deliberately destroyed the businesses of millions of sellers, as part of his grandiose schemes that appear to be going nowhere. Silencing the founding 'Voices' is a tiny part of silencing the entire original selling community. Whining? No. (why do some people call any opinion they disagree with 'whining' anyway?) Deeply resentful? Yes. Would I return to EBay if Donohoe were booted by the Board? Yes indeed.
