eBay Australia: Open a Store

By: Ina Steiner

Australian sellers are struggling to adjust to higher fees in Stores and less exposure for Store listings, resulting in posts like this one (link).

Today eBay Australia announced a workshop, "Stores Best Practise - Opening and optimising your Store": "The workshop will address questions about how to open your store, attracting buyers to your store, and how to keep your buyers coming back." (link)

Maybe the workshop will concentrate on the optimizing part, not the opening part.

The last Australian stores workshop attracted 1.5 people to it. This time they haven't even asked us for questions beforehand to get things going. Yet they are still trying to promote the very stores they want to get rid of! Our fees went up more than anywhere else in the world, and many sellers are regular victims of chargeback fraud via paypal. Australian buyers need a special radar to avoid the amount of scammers enjoying a free ride on the site. Ebay had better hope that no-one actually turns up for the workshop: the site itself is so full of gremlims its likely to implode - on second thoughts that might be a good idea!
