Blocked Bidder List is "Significantly Not as Described!" I am still getting questions from a PITA who's on my BBL. Seriously, you can smell a whiner a 1,000 ISP addresses away. When somebody asks the 4th question and keeps demanding 'more pictures' you know no good can come of a sale to that PITA. BBL is supposed to stop these Q's; it's not.

Just a clarification: Blocked is supposed to mean blocked, period. eBay says a blocked bidder can't communicate with you. They're lying - big shocker there, eh? No one has time to deal with PITA's - you block these people for a reason - the reason being that they're completely UNreasonable!

"eBay says a blocked bidder can't communicate with you" Apparently they have changed the policy and don't say that anymore: "If you don't wish to sell to certain eBay members, you can put them on your blocked list. Members on that list will be unable to bid on any of your listings until you remove them from the list. You can block up to 5000 User IDs." Nothing there anymore about blocking messages. :(

This has been a problem for several years now.  At one time when you blocked someone and checked no contact from blocked members you got no messages from them. Not any longer.

Thankfully I have had NO ABUSIVE buyers / would-be buyers. I have however placed about 70 on my Block Buyer's List thru the past 13 years. Most recently I had an ANNOYING buyer who thought HE got to ARGUE with me over my $3.66 Postage on an $18 Blu-Ray/DVD Digital Combo. Worse that just arguing he wanted me to send him an INVOICE as Free Shipping with a massive $1.05 NET reduction in the total vs. the way it was already SET for sale on eBay. Next day ANOTHER buyer snatched it up and PAID fast.

In my experience buyers who are a PITA in the early stages of a transaction will turn into buyers from hell when they get the item. In my Ruby Lane shop I have mostly blocked buyers for non payment/no contact. However I have also blocked a few rude and aggressive hagglers. On Ruby Lane blocked is blocked. They cant even email you! On Ebay they just get a bounce back message to the effect that the seller is away from the computer. Eventually they go away.

Account ---> Site Preferences--->Buyer Requirements--->Don't allow blocked buyers to contact me. (Buyer won't see the "Contact Seller" button on your Q&A page.) Note: Buyers can still contact you about existing transactions, unless you add them to your blocked list. You'd be surprised what you can find in your site preferences section. I suggest sellers visit there occasionally...especially new sellers. Have a Great Day Everyone!

For me, this has NEVER been an issue. Complainant needs to look over his account settings. I notice this person complains just about everything and anything regarding eBay. Why not just get off of eBay? I'm just saying.
